Since 2020 18 majors. LIV owns 8 of them.

Since 2018 26 majors. LIV owns 12 of them

Has there ever been anyone who has said that? There might be guys on here campaigning for LIV and it's annoying to people, but i don't think you will even hear most of the biggest LIV die hards say that the talent level is equal. But to say that LIV golf is goofy golf is just as dumb. Playing one less round ad having music on doesn't make it goofy. Some people might not like the team format, but by all accounts everyone over there seems to enjoy the team aspect, even Rahm. Even if they don't, I think the extra money in their pocket from team wins/placements will keep them happy.

Is this the standard we’re holding LIV to? One golfer was competitive in the tournament so LIV is great?

It’s just dumb to compare since there isn’t an equal representation in the field.

One tour has their top 50 players in almost every major, plus guys who win one of their tournaments.

The other has 10-15 of their guys & a few of their best players not invited.

At the top, maybe, & that’s all that should be considered in the conversation. If you’re looking at the entire field strength, of course LIV events wouldn’t get as many OWGR points.

*another note, it’s so dumb that we’re now celebrating Bryson being “back in the top 10 of OWGR”. It’s a great accomplishment, but he never should have dropped to 200+ in the first place

Thats a really really skewed way of presenting the data

Counting major wins when the players were on the pga tour is wild

Do you give the ACC Miami’s football titles when they were in the big east?

Will you say an SEC team won the football title in 2005?

If you are simply trying to not be ridiculous you would say an active liv player has won 2 of the 9 majors since it’s existence

My lord. This is you “moving the goal posts”

Okay

Since 2020 18 majors. 10 of those are owned by active PGA Tour members. The remaining ~45% are not.

Yeh, I haven’t moved any goalpost.

My original post:

quote:

And this year specifically liv has not done well in majors as a whole. I don’t think LIV fans would want to use the majors as a rallying cry for liv and it’s worth

LIv has not been great at the majors this year. Bryson has been fantastic but as a whole the majors hasn’t been good for liv this year

Us open

2 in the top 20

Bryson and Sergio

PGA

2 in the top 20

Bryson and Burneister

Masters

3 in top 20

Bryson, Hatton, Reed

So, where have I moved any goalpost from my original statement? This has not been a good year for Liv performance at majors

You then bring up majors won my active pga tour players, some of which before liv ever existed. Again, who is moving the goalpost there…..

You’re being intentionally obtuse. LIV has major winners, nobody would dispute that.

The performance of their major players, outside Bryson, since joining LIV is less than stellar. You and I both know that.

I make a comment about liv performance in majors for this year. He brings up 2020 majors before liv even existed while saying I am moving goalposts. It’s just a wild post

I know this wasn't directed towards me but I mean Brooks did pretty good last year

Only two guys in the top 20 this week and it was still a win for LIV. The face of the PGA Tour choked and the face of LIV won. Pretty simple.

3 of the last 5 tweets the PGA Tour has made have been about... Neal Shipley. They don't have much to brag about right now, LIV does.

Kind of an odd time to hate on LIV.

You could say the same about a few PGA players too. The whole discussion puts LIV at a disadvantage bc they don’t have an equal representation.

How do the 10 best PGA players compare to the 10 best LIV players?

Well, it’s hard to tell since LIV doesn’t have all 10 invited.

That’s why I added the major players clarification. Meaning Rahm, DJ, Bryson, Cam, Brooks, Phil, etc. The headliners I guess maybe a better way to put it.

It’s hard for me to feel sorry for LIV guys not getting into majors when the criteria to do so is pretty apparent. There’s nothing stopping the league from changing the format, yet they refuse.

Same ole arguments. We just see it differently.

OWGR should just rank the best players in the world correctly. Already fricking up the Olympic competition too.

Wyndham Clark is one of the best 4 US golfers, really? (He’s 18th on datagolf)

Everyone is invited to the US Open.

Sergio went out, qualified (1st alternate but still made the field), and then finished in the top 15. Every LIV player had the opportunity to qualify for this tournament.

They have won 2/9 and have performed very poorly overall in them this year
