Chip ins

I recently played in a fivesome with an average group index of 13. 3 of the 5 of us missed the green on a par three and had 15-30 ft chips. All 3 of us made our chips for birdie. In 40 years of playing, I have never seen that happen. Anyone else ever experience that?

Played my member-guest a couple weeks ago. In round one I had 3 chip ins for birdie and another for par. Was on fire…. Never done anything like that in my life

Yep….imagine that. A good coach teaching me what I was doing wrong on chips, practicing, and then implementing. Amazing formula.
Having the ball in back of my stance for all chips really gave me a consistent baseline to dial in chips from different distances. Knowing the ball is always in that same spot allowed me to adjust takeaway and follow through to hit the landing spot I wanted in the green. Thanks, Chris!!

I played with a guy two weeks ago at Pelican that chipped in two holes in a row then hit the pin on 17.
He also missed two putts under four feet.

Unlikely things happen frequently in these events.
I’ve always wanted to say, “I’ve never played that well before for 3 days.” However, I always play good one day of the 3 and mediocre to crappy for the rest.

Those 12 handicap guests just seem to always have the 2 best rounds of their life at these events.....every year

I’ll tell you this. If I’m faced with a chip that impossible that breaks 4 times and I need to check it up on the downslope, I’m holing it every time.
But if I need a little 8’ bump on flat green, I’ll blade it over and end up putting from 40’.

My first double eagle another member of our group one hopped it in for eagle from around 80 yards out. Got to the green and there’s 2 balls in the hole.
We went from 8 bets down to 8 up on that hole.

Very cool scenario! Not to one up you, and I wasn’t there to experience it, but my dad and 2 other players in his group holed out from like 75 yards on the same hole. Short par 4 everyone laid up to similar distances. Second short is downhill probably 30-40’ with pin on the front. One by one the made it, going crazier after each one.

I had a similar experience with two other guys on a golf trip to Michigan. Played 5 courses in 3 days. On the second course one day, Bucks Run Golf Club, and on the first hole, my tee shot on a par 4 was within three feet of another guy’s shot. He dunked it from 101 yds and we were high-fixing it because we had a bet against the third guy as he was a 1 handicap and we were both around 7’s. After calming down, I hit mine and it spun back about two feet and went in . . . We got a lot of mileage out of that story on the trip and still give him hell about it whenever we are together.
