Went to a demo day. I currently use Sim 2 Max and my numbers are roughly 3000 spin with 112 club head speed and average carry about 275

The Smoke was a little slower with my club head(109) which I’m thinking is just the shaft and not being used to it. Spin numbers were roughly the same at 3000 and distance was pretty much the same too

However, holy crap that is the most forgiving straight driver I have ever hit. My miss is right. I will usually over spin it and lose it right. With this club it just kinda dies with a miss hit at about 220/230 but stays dead straight

For anyone who struggles with driver accuracy I 100% recommend going hit this

Your max carry with those numbers would be 265. Average closer to 250 or 255. Just an FYI.

I know you are trying to be a prick but simple no

110 at 2970 is 266. Ads 2mph and what do you get?

Not 10 yards with 3000 spin. Your spin is killing you. And again, that’s max not average. Appreciate you confirming my post.

It’s not a big deal. People just way overestimate how far they carry it especially on the course. You’re not alone.

I’m not overestimating anything. I’m going directly by trackman

My spin goes from 2600-3300 (taking out the outliers in both directions)

Club head about 110-118

I gave you my estimated averages in the OP so people could simply get an idea what my swing is for the club

These are all numbers from a recent trackman session with range balls

Posting that you average 261 is an odd way to prove you average 275. I know they’re range balls, but the ball speed off the face isn’t what makes them shorter than regular balls. It’s about the only thing range balls are comparable to with tour balls because the biggest difference is the hard arse cover which doesn’t come into play when compressed off a driver. Trackman has settings to adjust for range balls and wind even so that fitters can still boost numbers during demo days.

But the point remains… 112 mph + 3000 rpm doesn’t come out to 275.

It isn’t worth discussing anything golf with you if you don’t think a real ball goes minimum 10-15 yards further than a range ball

This is one of my lower spinning drives. So obviously it’s much further. But it gives you an idea of my dynamic loft I create and smash factor. When my numbers spin more it obviously decreases my distance. My average drive ends up right at 275 on monitors after hitting hundreds of balls on them. And I’d say my average spin is right at 3,000

My call flies further than almost anyone with identical swing and spin speeds as me, and rolls nowhere compared to any golfer I have played with as well

They do go shorter. I said as much. But your ball speed is still above 160 which is about where you’d be with 112 and applying that much spin. So the difference is about 5 yards. If you were at a more optimal spin, you’d be at the typical 10 yards.

If you have 2400 spin drives, I’m assuming you have some at 3600 too?

Almost every study has range balls at 6-10% reduced distance

3300 is about my ceiling unless it’s an absolute slice bannana.

Ones that get around 3300 are my misses right. Most courses I’m alright. BC I’m fricked

Likely only hit 1/100 that bad. Those numbers will be like 4000 spin

Regardless, I think the Smoke driver truly is a true game changer in forgiveness

I haven’t hit it yet. I’ve hit the taylormade and cobra. I’m still using last year’s cobra and I haven’t found anything to beat it yet. Closest was was the TM in a Ventus black 70x. Just a $1200 combo that doesn’t make sense for similar results.

Oh I’m not buying it

But it’s the first time in my life I’ve truly thought a club made a material difference instantly

I have never seen a player, whether pro or amateur, hit a driver higher than me.

I’m about 10 feet higher than Rory

ETA: wind can be HUGE one way or the other for me. I once flew over a green at 310 yards and have also smoked drives into the wind that die at 230

Seems like you need a low spinning but forgiving head. You should be able to get 300-400 rpm’s less with the right head. Did you try the triple diamond? Supposed to be very forgiving for the spin.

It’s my shaft. I need a very very stiff shaft with my speed, but I simply can’t stand the feel of those stiff shafts. Hate it. Feels like swinging an Ugly Stick fishing pole

And I don’t have the time to get used to it

Clubhead affects spin more than shaft. I would be shocked if you could get a Qi10 LS 8 degree above 2500 spin.

I think it’s very normal to be spinning it 3000 with a 18 launch. The problem is you are presenting a ton of loft to the ball, not that you have some unique spin producing swing. Lower the loft or get a lower spinning head with the cg closer to the face (lowering the dynamic loft) and your launch parameters improve substantially. If your launch was sub 13 then the problem would be more difficult to solve.
