My current driver is set at 9*. I should go lower?

Yeah I would adjust the sleeve to -1.5 degrees and see what happens. Should see much more optimal launch and spin. Will make it more fade biased though

As someone else said, clubhead setup affects launch much more than shaft.

You spin the ball way too much for your launch angle. 17 and 18 degree launch angles are far too high, then if you add in 3,000 RPM of spin, you are not optimizing carry with that swing speed/ball speed.

You can turn your driver down from 9° to 7.5° which should help lower both launch and spin. I'd be tempted to find an 8° head with low spin characteristics (Callaway Triple Diamond, TaylorMade Qi10 LS, Cobra Darkspeed LS) which are built to 1) lower launch and 2) lower spin.

I haven't hit the Ai Smoke Max, but the testing and reviews I've seen all say this is one of the highest launching drivers of the year. I don't think that's what you need.

This is the most Pride post I've ever seen

Claims his average carry is 275

Posts data showing average carry is 260

Argues with someone on why the data is not accurate

Thanks man, I needed a laugh today

How does it perform on the LIV tour vs When you play it on the PGA?

Correct. I average 260 yard carry with Beau Chene range balls. I would say 5% added distance is very conservative there. Others that hit at BC can feel free to comment

It averages about 282 on indoor monitors with my own ball. But my ball flight never gets that much distance actually outside

This is my average right below entered into flight scope calculator.

When I use it for LIV I can legally also use it to beat my wife as well, so the extra club head speed is a plus

Didnt notice that really. Only thing I noticed was when I felt myself cut across it, it just kinda died in the middle before flying way right.

Oh I’m not buying it

But it’s the first time in my life I’ve truly thought a club made a material difference instantly

I'm curious as to why you didn't buy it since it performed so well for you ?

Most golfers would have a little voice in their head shouting you should have bought it when you hit a bad drive with your current club.

I've never got along well with recent Callaway drivers over the long haul,
But that's just me .

If you looking for a really stiff shaft profile, the Green Hulk might do the trick. They are decently priced on ebay.

Watch Rick Shiels hit the same head with 4 flexes.

And it's not just him. There's probably 10 or more guys with the same results on youtube. Happened to me in my one and only driver fitting as well. The only real difference in mine was when they put me in to stiff a shaft, it changed how I transitioned and the results weren't as good. Play what feels best.

I believe some of the players on LIV helped Calloway develop the Smoke Max you may want to reconsider your purchase.

I gotta say man, I have no beef with you and I enjoy a lot of your posts on this board, but you are coming off with some real strong douche vibes in this thread…

- average carry 275 despite the proof

- argues against the actual data you post on a trackman saying the range balls hurt your distance, not once mentioning you’re hitting off a trackman into a net at a store which are famously wrong.

- talk about hitting the ball “so high”, the famous complaint of guys who want to subtle brag

- “I need an extra extra stiff shaft but I don’t like the way they feel”

Cmon bro there’s no need to be like this

It’s not bragging. I hit driver very far and very high

I would confidently say most on here hit their irons further than me. My 7 iron goes about 150. I’m also a 12 handicap so I’m not a great golfer. I swing fast but hands are flippy. Driver goes far, irons go high and short.

People on this site and board are jsut weirdly insecure about random shite. People talking about golf shot distance pisses them off. In another thread I actually posted pictures of my trackman data, and ell was right there to say the machine must be broke This thread simply was a Callaway review thread and ell couldn’t help himself

There’s nothing insecure about the discussion other than you still believing you average 275 carry off the tee with that much spin and launch. It’s adorable.
