I recently went to sign up for the lottery for Masters tickets and it says $160 per ticket per day which ends up being $1280 for two people to go all 4 days. Is this correct? For some reason I thought it would be cheaper than this given that there's a small chance you get selected in the first place. How does this price compare to buying tickets second hand?

you can't win tickets for all 4 days in the lottery, just one day. you could flip the tickets for 5x what you are buying them for easily.

In 2016 I won wednesday tickets and bought them for $65 and sold them for something like $600 each.

If you get picked in the lottery, it will only be for one of those days, so you'll only be on the hook for the day you get picked.

I sold some Masters tickets for 4x (maybe 5x, been a minute) one time on eBay in about 3 minutes about 10-12 years ago. Literally posted them for sale, took the dog out to pee, and somebody bought them via "Buy It Now" before I walked back inside.

Probably on their black list now, which is why I haven't been selected since then.... I've moved onto trying to go to The Open.

Yes, $160 x 8 = $1280. You're welcome.

Ticket prices were just raised for next year to try and cut down on flippers buying them.

You have a better chance of being struck by lightning on a sunny day after winning the mega millions jackpot than you do winning 2 masters lottery tickets for 4 days. Not something you need to worry about.

You’ll pay way more than that for a single badge for one tournament round.

If you want 2 tickets for all 4 days you’ll be spending $10k+ on secondary market. Probably $12k-$15k tbh.

Side note, and not saying this applies to you or anyone in this thread, but anyone who puts in for Masters lottery tickets solely for the purpose of reselling on the secondary market is a fricking loser.

Agree with this, so I will clarify that we were not able to go due to weather. Group of farmers and we were all running late getting corn planted so we didn’t take the risk of it drying out while we were gone.

Started the bidding at what I paid for them and set a buy it now number comparable to others on eBay.. Some dude from Maine or somewhere up there scooped them up immediately.

Ticket prices in the secondary market are likely to rise substantially given the crack down on Patrons selling badges this year. My buddy who is in the Masters hospitality business and secures about 250 badges had 30 of them pulled this year. Those 250 patrons were paid approximately 7,000-7,500 per badge. He packages them with lodging and food for about 4,500-5,000/day! He feels that Patrons will be gun shy about selling next year. He said that he will have to pay 10-11,000 next year to get Patrons to sell. Stay tuned...

I had 4 tickets for Tuesday this year and was offered $6500 by a ticket broker in Augusta. I decided not to sell them this year because I didn't want to get blacklisted. Last year tickets for practice round were $100 each.
