If you could go back and play one round on any of the following BR courses, which would you pick:

- Old LSU (circa 1995)
- Sherwood Forest CC
- Shenandoah CC
- Briarwood
- Howell Park
- Dumas
- Fairview (edit * Fairwood*)
- The Bluffs (not BR, but what the heck)

Tough call for me, but I’m gonna go with old LSU.

I use to run all around Howell park as a kid.

Collected a burlap sack full of lost balls.

Use to play on the Fighter Jet too.

Shenandoah. Grew up there as a kid, but never got a chance to play it as an adult. Would love a chance to play it.

Yea I used to play that course a lot with my dad when I was in high school. I loved that 90 yard par 3. Always would be dancing around the hole with my SW.

Grew up on the 4th hole at Sherwood. Last time I drove by the old house, weeds were taller than me on the 4th hole. Would love to play it one more time.

I was wondering if that’s what he meant by Fairview. I developed my game there from 1993-96 and then I think played it in the early 2000’s once before it closed. My dad and I used to go off before the 7 am tee time to beat the heat.

Made my first eagle on hole 10 at Howell and qualified for state at Dumas…never played Sherwood. Shenandoah was ok and the old LSU course was nothing special. I liked the hole ms west of Nicholson but the east side was pretty forgettable.

Briarwood for sure because of their bar, The Briar Patch.

Bought my $3 a month card at Howell as a youngster and leaned the game. And yes left some skin on those canal banks

Wore it out as a student. $1.25 twilight green fee and plenty of shanks onto Nicholson on the par-3 9th.

Was a good enough course, but I mainly miss it because I live less than 5 minutes from it. It would be nice to live that close to a course.

Like someone else said, I also fished a lot of balls from the canal. My dad and I would get up early Saturday, put on the boots, and go hunting.

Sherwood. That course is the reason my driver was always the best club in my bag.

We did this once early in a Sunday before church and the stream had been up all week because of rain…water was juts shallow enough to be able to see balls at the bottom..got like 300 in an hour…and not as many as scuffed as normal. I tell my son about that every time he asks me to buy him a new box of balls

I learned to play at Howell park. Played hundreds of rounds there. First broke 100 then 90 then 80 there. Made my first eagle on number 10 also. Witnessed a friend make a double eagle on that hole. Made my only hole in one on number nine. It made me sad when they closed it. I hope they bring the Bluffs back. I loved that place in its heyday.

Old LSU. A lot of great memories from that course; made my first birdie on hole #1. Trying to hit a good shot on #9 while someone’s honking in your downswing. Good times

Used to love Briarwood. Afternoons, it was something like $13 twilight fee. You could always find a couple of guys who didn't mind an extra. Saturday mornings always had some games you could get in on. I always thought it was a real friendly place for those who weren't up to the country/private club level.

I seriously get a little depressed every time I drive by and look at the few remaining "what used to be" parts of the course.
