Lots of places seem to be private in that area and was wondering best courses for that area? Wanted to play 2 or 3 rounds so any info for 2 or 3 golf courses would be appreciated

There is a course at Hard Labor Creek State Park.

Reynolds’s Plantation has public play.

That's a rough area for public golf. I live southwest of there. My advice if you have time is drive to Conyers for Cherokee Run

Second the Hard Labor Creek recommendation.

Probably the best state park golf in GA. Much better value than Reynolds Plantation.

Little Fishing Creek is nearby but avg small town course at best.

Uncle Remus is only nine holes

Lake Jonesco is unplayable. Doesn't deserve to be in business

Think we decided we could drive a little bc Reynolds has a special deal for Masters week to book for $300+ through a concierge service. That's not ideal.

Cherokee Run looks pretty nice. If I had to choose between that and Hard Labor Creek, which would you recommend?

going to follow this as well. just recently discovered the Oconee area and was looking into it. some of the house on the lakes in the area on VRBO are incredible......but when i reached out to reynolds lake they made it sound that like you can't play any of their 6 courses or any activities on their grounds, unless you stay on their grounds.

Personal preference for me.

I've played both and I feel HLC is a better layout than Cherokee Run.

Thanks tried to book at Cherokee Run but they were already filled up. I got one at Ashton Hills. Anyone know anything about this one?

Used to play there and Cherokee Run quite a bit when I lived in GA. Pretty solid layout and was always in good shape each time I played there. Nothing too out of the ordinary about it. Plenty of scoring chances and some getable par 5’s.

Ended up getting tee time at Hard Labor Creek. Pumped to play it as the flyover on YouTube seemed bad arse

I’ve never played there, but a friend told me that number 1 is one of the hardest holes he’s ever played.

Said it gets easier after that.

This is about Hard Labor Creek.
