Around the Baton Rouge area, what are the best golf courses to check out? Been to beaver creek, how does that line up compared to others?

Check out Carter Plantation. Closer to Hammond than it is BR, but it’s a very fine course.

Have no idea why you're getting downvoted. That's a reasonable list

Haven’t played it in prob 4-5 years, so no idea of the condition or how it looks now but Copper Mill was one of my favorite courses

I love starting off on a par 5, even tho it’s a small green, easy way to start off with a par or better

And I’m assuming they still 6/6/6 layout, 6 par 5’s, 6 par 4’s and 6 par 3’s

How much plays does U Club get? Is it pretty packed. We have privileges there while our club is renovating and thought about maybe trying to play there on a Friday but didn’t know if it was a super busy club.

Me too. That 666 layout is fun. I love starting off with that easy birdie opportunity and finishing 9 with another par 5 chance.

I hope they keep it up. I haven’t lived in BR in 10 years, so I’m out of the loop.

OP the best golf course in Louisiana is BBCC or as it is often referred to as “Acadia National.” Best cheeseburger, ice cold beer, and the home of the original “dogfight”

Probably the most play of any course I have ever seen. in other words, a lot!

It’s a homer list full of only BR/S.LA centric courses. Golf does exist elsewhere

The OP specifically asks about courses around the Baton Rouge area despite the title.

I look at the title.

Your point is fairly taken. My interpretation was “i live in BR area...point me to the best LA courses”

The OP said "BR area." Learn how to read

I honestly hate the options around BR or lack of them... I was answering the OP as if he only meant the BR area. There are really good courses elsewhere that would be above all of the ones I listed.

Did get a hearty chuckle out of me when I heard Carter Plantation's new radio spot where they say they are a top 3 course in the state.

Looks good to me

If you’re looking for a regular game Fennwood in Zachary has a really good one with some of the best players in the area. Not on par with the above courses, It’s a 9 hole but really good shape in spring and summer. Greens are almost always in perfect shape.

U Club is usually slammed at the good times. 90 percent of members seem to play often. I dropped out b/c of that.

1.) Squire Creek/BRCC

2.) CCLA/Money Hill/TPC Louisiana

All the rest.

I'm curious why you have BRCC above CCL.

Clearly everyone would have their own subjective list, that one just sticks out as backwards of mine and I'm curious the reason. I'm not saying you are wrong, BRCC is really nice.

I just prefer the green complexes at BRCC to CCL. BRCC is also consistently in better shape than CCL in my opinion.
