With one tournament left, Ben Taylor is ranked 25th in the Web.com money list. The Top 25 get their PGA tour card for next year. His lead is less than $1k. He won a tournament earlier in the year, but has not done very well the last few months with several missed cuts and poor performances. His win was his only top 10 finish of the season. He's been dropping in the money list ever since his win. If he doesn't secure his card this week, he'll have to compete in the Web tour finals with PGA pros that didn't earn their card for next year from the Fed Ex points. The top 25 money winners over the course of the last 4 Web.com tournaments earns a card.

For some reason I thought if you won on the Web you got status on the PGA tour, guess that’s not true if you totally shite the bed in every other event

3 wins in one season on Web.com is automatic PGA Card.

1 win can put you in the top 25 pretty easily, but you have to be decent the rest of the year. Sam Burns has 1 win, but several other top 10's and top 5's to go with it, so I think he's either 2 or 3 in the money list.

I’ve always thought golf should give more airtime to this sort of thing. It’s compeling. They should also focus more of the PGA Friday broadcast on who’s going to make the cut. They’re always obsessed with the leader even with 40+ holes remaining.

This week they cover it on both tours, with live projections.

The web finals does the same

Well he got cut and finished outside the 25. He can still earn a tour card in the tour finals the next 4 weeks. Competition picks up greatly though, as the PGA tour players that didn't keep their card go to the Web.com tour finals too.
