I would wager than BRCC requires that kind of money and still doesn't make money.

Being they are a non profit social club, I’d say you are correct.

Is that the under 40 deal?

Yes. Initiation and monthly dues go up marginally once you turn 40. BC is still a steal though for what you get.

I should have jumped on it a few years ago. Unfortunately for me, I’m at the $5k initiation and I believe monthly dues are either $335 or $355.

Initiation got bumped to $37.5k this week and stock is over $10k, price varies like a normal stock and can’t be a stock holder until stock becomes available. Monthly dues are mortgage payments depending on who’s all on the plan. $800-$1500 monthly

That being said course is in great shape right now… the golf course is the baby, if they build a new fitness center the golf course better get some money thrown into it. Like the new drainage system and cart paths along with the new fitness center

Everything about BRCC is done extravagantly. But don’t forget that it’s a social club first and foremost. People join (or actually invited to join) to socialize with the elite. That golf course is just another amenity of the club.
I’d wager 75% of its members never step foot on the course. They’ve got the resources to make the course first rate, but it’s no more important than anything else the club has to offer.
That’s why the club is the premier place.

I agree it’s a premier place, the pool and pool house isn’t “premier” maybe for the area it is. That still has to be renovated if that is even on the plans. And if that does happen the golf course gets thrown a few million to renovate whatever they feel is needed (which isn’t needed at most other courses, which makes it premiere). Golf renovations is in every phase of future renovations which is already planned out. I do feel though with the future renovations every aspect of club is being upgraded to the most premiere in BR, with what they can do regarding the smaller land they are on compared to CCL and UClub.

I agree not every member golfs, but there are right over 600 shareholders of the club. I think 50% (+/- 10%) play a round yearly. Most people on the various boards at BRCC are golfers

Edit: Staff and servicing also make it premiere, which I’m sure a lot of money goes to also

If you were asst pro during that time, I was in a couple of your Summer golf camps.

Yea, I worked for Craig Struthers at that time. Cutts Benedict and Pete Just were also asst pros during that time period. I left there and was involved building The Bluffs.

I agree, in the early 1990’s, the course was in primo shape. Too bad what followed after that. Hope that somehow the new owners can return the course back to what is was.
