I struggle with this. Many here will recognize the pic. Anyway, discuss.

The ball should not always be placed just off your left heel.

If I were you, I wouldn't follow this guide.

I don't like the different swing paths for shorter/longer clubs. I get it for a half-wedge shot and all but not for each different club.

I think it's just day to day. One day you may hit everything great off your your left nut. The next day you may be more accurate with everything off of your back foot. Who knows.

Nicklaus played the ball off the left heel.

I play it almost middle for most clubs except the driver.

Ball position can really mess a good swing up.

I try to find the bottom of my swing and put it there.

I don't always get it right.

He was a great golfer, but possibly the worst to try and emulate. He had so many built-in compensations to avoid hooking the ball. Ball position being one of them
