AVX comps

Mornin'
What's a good comparison to the AVX but with better spin off the wedges? I love the flight and feel of the AVX all the way up to 70 yards and in.
Ive tried TP5x, Chrome Soft X LS, ProV1, Srixon XV. Most of these spin a bit too much off the driver for me with the exception of the LS X.
Or am I just in a pickle and have to settle for better long game vs short game?

I think the Vice Pro is a good comp to the AVX.
And if you have a Sams membership they're on sale right now for $29 in store for two dozen. It's an absolute steal.
Another option would be the Titliest TruFeel but I think the Vice feels more similar around the green and from the fairway. The TruFeel plays a bit better in the winter and longer off the tee for me.

How old are the wedges?
As much as players practice and play with wedges, the grooves can wear down more than the other clubs.
For me, I don’t need a lot of spin bc I am mostly short so if a wedge runs out 10 ft it probably helps me more than hurts me.

I dont think it's a wedge issue. I can back a TP5x up with ease... they just go errant off of the tee where as the AVX is dead straight and long off the tee.

MyGolfSpy claims the Bridgestone TOUR B RXS offers the most greenside spin of the “soft” balls they tested. The cons are they fly short for fast swing speed players and they fly lower than most balls.
I’ve always noticed how the AVX dimples are more flat compared to most high end balls. Bridgestones have that same look.

Agree, but it seems like they're raising the price on these. I was getting them for $40/2 dozen, then caught them on sale for $30. They're up to $50 on sam's online and amazon now.

Yeah, $50 on Amazon seems to be consistent but even at $25/dozen i think that’s a good price when compared to the AVX , ERC, etc

I was going to recommend the Tour XS. The blue box one.
That's pretty much what I've switched to all the time now except if I want to play a proV1 from time to time. Has a similar feel to the AVX. Has a good bit of greenside spin but has limited my driver spin as well.
I think for one that is a little cheaper the Maxfli Tour S is a great ball. The cover would wear out a little quicker but for a $39 box it has some really good performance.

Appreciate the B-stone rec. Haven't tried them yet. Adding it to the list to try next!

Blue box for above 105 swing, Green box for below seems to be difference

I've been playing the Bridgestone BXS recently and have liked them a lot.. I go back and forth between those and the Maxfli Tour X.. it's a damn good ball as well.. Plus you can buy the box of 48 for like 120 bucks..

Chrome Tour should meet your expectations.
For me it's a flatter ball flight that the ProV1x, but it still has excellent greenside control.

I'm liking the new AVX ball this year. Seems very close to the Pro V's

I hit the chrome tour better than proV1X. It’s more forgiving off the driver and my distance seems to vary less with it

The Chrome Tour isn’t an AVX Comp
