Wondering if it is worth the drive and how is the condition.
Believe it's a 100.00 green fee for weekdays.

Worth it. Fairways are still a little thin but the layout is fun and the greens are fast and true. I’ve played it a few times

Is it past the Old Bentwood Course on hwy 59 ?

I’m not familiar with the old bentwood course so I’m not sure. I think the only way you can get there is on 99.

The old Bentwater course is called Oakhurst and it’s a borderline goat ranch off 59.

What a shame.
I knew Pressler pretty well at the time through business deals and he invited myself and my boss to come play there the week it opened.
It was very nice then, I really enjoyed it.
In fact we sponsored several AJGA Tournaments there, that included Jordan Spieth.
Killed several Copperheads out there too.

It really is. It is actually a fun tract. Just horribly maintained. The current owner runs the maintenance on a shoe string. Greens usually get a fungus in the Summer and die. They never pump out the bunkers. I used to PDP there after Harvey shut down Kingwood CC just cause you can literally back up to the range but just got tired of the traffic to get there from the back of Kingwood so I just re-joined Kingwood CC.

Probably a stretch calling it Porter but that is probably correct. Actually closer to Benders Landing.

So is it closer to Mount Belview ?
From Sugarland, would it be better to take the Beltway East to hwy 225, cross the Hartman bridge and take 99 spur across I-10 ?
I hat going through downtown on hwy 59.

Wrong direction from Mont Belvieu. It's off 99 between 59 and the Hardy going towards the Woodlands. I hate to tell you that it is probably easiest to take 59 all the way and exit 99 and go West. Not sure the best route to avoid downtown. Can you run 99 from side going toward Katy and 1-10 cause it is probably 40 minutes from there.

I’d rather drag my ballbag across shards of glass than deal with Houston traffic ever again

99 is right next to Greatwood where I live.
So take it all the way past I-45 . How far from 99 and I-45 ?

Sounds like a dream. I love the way the ball is tee’d up on a zoysia fairway

It looks like its basically in between 45 and 59.

Friend of mine is a member at Augusta Pines and said it’s $125 greens and $20 cart. Said it’s real nice and he may be able to get me a 20% discount on the greens fee. I’ll probably wait a month or so to play it.

their twilight rates are "reasonable"
$65 weekday
$85 weekends

Played today, it was $100 with cart. Fairways were a little tight and the greens are huge but we’re fast and rolled true. Very easy to 3Putt. It’s definitely worth playing once but it’s a haul to get there and you have to deal with the tolls. Course is a nice layout and several great holes. Reminded me of Cypresswood or High Meadow Ranch, your are in the trees. I played with some older folks and they wanted to play the whites, shot a 40 front and blew up on 17,18 for 5over on those two holes for 45. Not bad for playing it the first time but the white tees made it easy. I couldn’t imagine playing the tips. They are currently starting dirt work for the clubhouse. I’d wait a month or longer for the growing season.

This is spot on.
Played Friday. Great course. Greens rolled well, but are very hard, naturally. Course got a lot of rain the night before, too. I can't wait to see the course in a year or so. Great tract and would definitely play again. No 3 putts for me.
