I would love to pick up a reasonable launch monitor to practice with mainly focusing on wedges and iron play. The Mevo offers spin rates and some additional features that are nice but has mixed reviews.

The other hand is the Garmin G80 that is an excellent GPS yardage with monitor capabilities. I have considered picking up a golf watch so this would pseudo fit the bill on both things I am looking at since Im trying to get out of my rangefinder an onto something quicker and simpler.

What are the boards thoughts?

That’s the big thing i was trying to find out. The mevo is a mix bag of reviews and I wasn’t sure who is getting paid vs not. I read one review that said that it was really accurate up to about 180 to 200 yards and after that was hot trash.

The Garmin is supposed to be close to the same except it is a great gps yardage also.

I have 0 experience on the Garmin. However I've hit on a mevo before and unless you put dots on the ball it's not even good at 100 yards. And it's not like you're going to do random range balls.

Have you seen the Rhapsoda or whatever it's called? I heard it was actually decent but I've never used it.

I had an ES12 a couple years ago before the Mevo was a thing. It was ok. Data seemed pretty reliable.

I've seen some videos on the garmen and I think its serviceable and definitely worth it for the multipurpose use. It also has that goofy gimmicky virtual round thing that could be fun if you want to pretend you're playing a course you're really familiar with while hitting balls on the range or whatever

does it give path / face to path? or just spin, carry and smash?

have used all sorts of launch monitors. Have had great success with the Mevo. Tested side by side with both trackman & GC quad and even without the stickers, it’s about 5% off. Pretty good for the price.

I've tested it multiple times with my TM4 and it's 20-30 off in over 20% of the shots. It literally doesn't measure spin or track the ball to the ground, so it's not really possible to get carry without that.
