I played there today in a scramble. Overall the course was in solid condition. Some greens had some weed spots. But the greens in general were in nice condition. Course is dry like everywhere until you get to greens where they’ve clearly been watering them well.

CM is my favorite layout. Glad they’re turning it around.

Wouldn’t mind some nets like Webb has though

Just as an FYI. Most likely getting new greens next spring. Closing for renovations in April reopens first week of July. Also with a new fleet of club cars with gps.

Interesting. Hard to overcome the clubhouse being a T-building and no range though. Never understood that when it was meant to be a premier neighborhood with nicer houses. The utilization and prestige of the course would sky rocket if they just got over the hump and became a nice golf course. Hell the facilities at brec courses are often nicer. That’s a shame.

Need to redo that putting/chipping area. Need to add bays with mats and nets right by the pond and cart path going to #1 or by cart barn. Need to cut back trees around 2,3, and 4 tee boxes. Need to figure out their pre emergent and fertilizer application timing as well. Also encourage patrons to fix divot marks may help as well.

I’ve heard this as well. Almost $500K to be spent on new greens. Will dig up and seed (not sod) them.

I’ve never understood this critique.

I don’t go to a go;f course to admire the building where I pay, piss, and grab a bite.

I feel it’s more about the experience. Nice houses all around and then you pull up to a trailer to start your round. It just give off a vibe that says this is a nice course.

By and Large, people only want to pay for golf and burgers/dogs/beers. If a club/course builds too big of a clubhouse it better be a very very good club with members with deep pockets or it won't make it. Most of Louisiana just doesn't fall into this category.

You actually have to have a super strong membership to even support a nice practice area and range. Because Zachary has BC, Fennwood and CM, the serious golfers (aka potential membersA) are too spread out. For what the members pay at CM, they could never expect a range.
