Played today. Man that fairways were dry - ball ran forever. Pretty fun course and greens were nice. Wasn’t a fan of #6

Nobody is. It’s just a silly hole for the first 2/3. The approach and green are both awesome though.

All it would take to fix it would be a chainsaw. Get rid of the live oak so the tee shot becomes risk/reward.

I’m all for variety, but hitting a 5 iron to a tiny area to have any hope of being in position to hit a long iron over trees in the hopes of having something inside of 150 for a third shot into a par-5 is just ridiculous. It’s a bad tee shot on what’s otherwise one of my favorite golf courses anywhere.

You don't have to go over the trees to the second part of the fairway.

If you're laying up with a 5 off the tee, you can easily take it to the right of the trees and be 130 out for your second.

Or you can lay up and hammer a 3 wood over, or draw, around the tree and be 50 yds, if not closer or on.

I played the Bears the other day and rolled 3 iron, 3 wood, PW from 60 to within 10 for a birdie.

I was 40 to the pin on 13 and ground was so hard, I chunked into the trap b/w me and pin. No rake by that little bastard should have been a sign. LOL

Dried mud in that little bastard made me skull over green my only lost ball. Hit 7 wood- 5 iron left, then 5 strokes for the last 40 yards

Eagle was from 69yds on 16

Beautiful course that compares very favorably to Fallen Oak, IMO

Yeah I generally go 2i, 7i, 8i. I gave up trying to fit a driver in there a long time ago.

They had some tricky pin placements this wknd. Hole 4 was back right. No chance I'm going at that. Hit the center of the green and 2-putt. Hole 6 was front left. 8 was front/left I guess you'd call it.

Probably why had I hit 12/18 GIR (which is good for me). Kept aiming at the center.
