Serious question, do Scottish guys go by Bob? Or do they have a different nickname for Robert?

I have no idea if they still do, but the whole Bob for Robert, Bill for William, and Dick for Richard was happening in the middle English period almost 1,000 years ago. I listen to a History of English podcast and this was a topic of an episode. It was just a thing they did where they would use nicknames that rhymed with the actual or shortened name. Somehow it stuck. Other example is Margaret to Peggy. Margaret > Margy (way they pronounced it was different) > Peggy.

I’m just saying there’s a good chance he’s a flash in the pan on a heater and will fade away soon. Hopefully that doesn’t happen at the Ryder Cup

Do you think Tommy Fleetwood is an elite player? He's one of the best Ryder Cup players the Euro's have and HAS NEVER WON A PGA EVENT!! Give JJ a little more credit than a "flash in the pan". He deserves it.

Huge difference in the Euro fans and US fans. Euros get loud without being just complete arse clowns and still show some respect to the opposing golfers.

Look back at the 2008 US team. Not many were riding high with that team. New blood in there could be exactly what is needed to bring it home this year. Also, I like Burns and McNealy to be picks for this squad.
