Family is heading down to 30A next week for a few days during the holiday. What course would you all recommend? We have been looking at Camp Creek and Sharks Tooth, but found out last year that neither is a lock to get on even if where we our house is "gets us in". Last year we ended up driving in to Sandestin and playing one of the courses in the same complex as The Raven.

Camp Creek is awesome if you can get on. Very, very difficult.

Sharkstooth is nice, but not as great as Camp Creek.

Towards Destin, you have Kelly Plantation, The Raven, Regatta Bay, all are good courses. There are tons of courses that way, but give yourself some time to get there. Traffic from Seaside/Watercolor to Destin is brutal.

Shalimar Pointe is decent for the price.

Camp Creek is #1 easily or if you need to ride the Destin way play Burnt Pine, Shark’s Tooth is good and Hombre is a test if they still keep it in good shape.

Windswept Dunes is straight inland from Seaside; nice course, very uncrowded, good rate. I would try this one before going into Destin.

If you’re playing with kids or beginners, check out Origins Golf Club. Really neat place. It’s a 6 hole regulation course with additional greens and tees to play as a 10 hole par 3 course. I think for $50, you can play as much as you want in any configuration. It was in great shape when we played and a lot of fun. I brought by son, nephew and Brother in law who are all beginners and we had a great time out there.

I live in Destin. Rocky Bayou CC in Niceville is the best kept secret in the area.

Was in Rosemary for a wedding in September. We played at Hombre Golf Club. It was nice and the beer selection was nice.
