The relevant governing bodies finally got around to approving the deal.

This is the next step in building an industry-leading first party studios team, a commitment we have to our Xbox community. With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players.

Now that we’re one team, we can start working together on the future ahead. We will have more to share about what’s next for our teams later this year. In the meantime, to properly celebrate this special moment, we are bringing additional Bethesda games into Xbox Game Pass later this week.

Game Pass keeps getting better all the time.

Maybe Bethesda will stop making half-assed moves like putting out 76 before it's ready

Let's face it, that is not uncommon these days.

Any investment worth getting for $1 is going to cost you several times that amount in transaction fees.

Now they can be much more obvious in publicly stating what we all always knew (well, those of us who aren't complete idiots): this was about exclusive games. Here's a quote from Phil Spencer today (you can find video of him saying this at this link):

quote:

So obviously I can’t sit here and say every Bethesda game is exclusive, because we know that’s not true. There’s contractual obligations that we’re going to see through, as we always do in every one of these instances. We have games that exist on other platforms, and we’re gonna go support those games on the platforms they’re on. There’s communities of players and we love those communities and we’ll continue to invest in them. And even in the future there might be things that have contractual things, or legacy on different platforms that we’ll go do. But if you’re an Xbox customer, the thing I want you to know is that this is about delivering great exclusive games for you that ship on platforms where Game Pass exists. That’s our goal, that’s why we’re doing this, that’s the root of this partnership that we’re building.

For Dishonored, you don't have to play it as stealth, right? I read that if you cause too much chaos, you just get a bad ending, but the game is still perfectly playable if you want to (mostly) ignore stealth.

Is that true?

Man I wish I knew. I haven't played the Dishonored games yet, but they're definitely on my list. I'm playing through the Mass Effect series for the first time at the moment.

This seems to be a pretty good rundown in the differences. Might be a bit spoilery, but I have no idea who these people are that he's talking about so I'm not sure.

I don't see why you would have to play stealth.

High Chaos (lots of killing and making evil choices) - more enemies present, darker tone, plague is worse (more rats and infected),

Low Chaos (killing <20% of humans in each level and making good choices) - normal amount of enemies, plague isn't as bad

The final mission also changes depending on chaos level. Still same map, but circumstances/time of day/events are different. Ending depends on Chaos level too

You will really enjoy the series, it's one of the best in recent memory. All 3 games are very good and grant you total freedom of choice

Thank you guys, I'm definitely going to check it out!

Bring. On. The. Chaos.

ETA: Just saw a report that Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Skyrim, Prey, and Dishonored are getting a FPS boost soon: LINK So guess I'll hold off for a bit on Dishonored.
