Has to be Overwatch.

It has been a week year overall for video games. 2017 looks much better.

Looking at the list in OP, seems like a solid list to me. Not very weak.

The new deus ex wasn't goty worthy but it was still pretty good.

The division, uncharted, FF xv, dark souls are all great single player games.

Bf1 and overwatch for multi

Lot of genres represented

Yep. Plus the witness, forza, titanfall, stardew valley, dishonored 2, xcom 2, gears 4, firewatch, ratchet and clank, etc... There are a lot of really good games this year.

I'll vote for Overwatch. Blizzard did a great job of combining a MOBA and an FPS into one game. Pretty good results. I started playing again after not playing for a while. The two characters they have added since launch are amazing. The new castle map is pretty cool too.

Tons of sequel retreads with very little new. I mean, many are high quality, but they are often uninspired.

quote:

Overwatch - 8 Uncharted 4 - 4 Doom - 3 Battlefield 1 - 3 Final Fantasy XV - 3 Skyrim Remastered - 2 Dark Souls lll - 2 Titanfall 2 - 2 The Division - 1 MLB the Show - 1 Hyper Light Drifter - 1 Pokémon Go - 1 Rainbow 6 Seige - 1 I am Satsuna - 1 Civilization 6 - 1 NHL 17 Inside - 1

Outside of Overwatch, Doom (a sequel that tries something new), and a few indies like Stardew and HLD, this year is just bland.

I haven't played TF2 or FF XV, however.

But 2017 - Breath of the Wild, New Mario, RDR2, RE7(again, a sequel that looks worth it), Scalebound, Injustice 2, Ghost Recon, Crackdown (maybe, hopefully, praying), it's already better.

I thought this was a great year, but I do think next year will be even better.

Other than Scalebound, all of those are sequels and retreads. Who really cares as long as they're good.

Agree to disagree for a few reasons. There's a HUGE difference between RDR2 and FF XV. And there's also a big difference between a Doom/RE7/BotW and Battlefield 1. Some games try to do more, others just refine the same thing over and over again with small additions or variations.

(ETA: And yes, RE7 and BoTw are unproven right now, but they do look like they are trying something different.)
