It's Bungie's first endeavor since handing Halo off to 343.

quote:

Destiny is an upcoming video game being developed by Bungie. The game will be an action role-playing first-person shooter in a "mythic science fiction" open world setting.[4] As part of a ten-year publishing deal with Activision,[5] Destiny will be published by Activision on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4[6], Xbox 360, and Xbox One[7] video game consoles, with Bungie expecting that the project will have a ten-year life cycle from its launch.[4] A contract detailing Bungie and Activision's publishing agreement originally listed the game for release in Q3/Q4 2013.[8] In February 2013, however, Activision stated it has not included the launch in its 2013 outlook, and that "there should be no speculation or expectation of a different result."[9]

quote:

Bungie has emphasized that the universe of Destiny will be "alive". Events may happen in-game that are not necessarily controlled or planned by the developer, which will help to create a dynamic developing experience for Bungie and a dynamic playing experience for gamers. The game's style has been described as an always-online first-person shooter that will incorporate massively multiplayer online game (MMO) elements,[5] but Bungie has avoided defining Destiny as being in-kind with traditional MMO games.[10] Instead, the game has been referred to as a "shared-world shooter,"[11] as it lacks many of the characteristics of a traditional MMO game. For instance, rather than players being able to see and interact with all other players in the game or on a particular server—as is the case in many conventional MMO games—Destiny will include on-the-fly matchmaking that will allow players to see and interact only with other players with whom they are "matched" by the game.[10]

Destiny will incorporate a new game engine that allows global illuminations and real-time dynamic lighting to occur together. An innovation in Bungie's "hopper" technology, which has been the backbone for Halo's matchmaking system, will allow better player matchmaking in order to create a more natural experience in either cooperative or competitive multiplayer modes.[12]

I'll be giving it an honest look when the time comes. My gaming will be severely limited when I get out so I don't want to waste money.

Open world is something I'm into. I'd need to see some trailers or something to give me a full idea of what they mean and how it would be implemented, but it's definitely on my radar.

halo 3 was okay. No where near Halo 2

mostly I thought the maps kinda sucked for Halo 3

H2 maps were so pimp. Ivory tower and Lockout cant be topped. Hang em high is the only one you could say but hard to compare H1 and H2 maps because they changed gun power and stuff so much

I agree with you completely on this.

Thought Halo 3 was a pretty big step down.

I stilled played the shite out of 3 but nothing can top 2 IMO.

My buddy and I would dude 3v3 clan and then quit out a player and play 2v3 and work people. We weren't unbeatable unless we got the standby treatment

I was really good but my friend and neighbor is the best halo play I've ever seen or played against. He would pull of the most crazy shot ever

I can agree with that.

Halo 2 was definitely better than 3.

And yes, lockout is probably the best Halo map ever.

So, again through a process of extrapolation from the drip-feed of hard facts, the make-up of the One's GPU is confirmed - 12 compute units each capable of 64 ops/clock gives us the 768 total revealed by Microsoft and thus, by extension, the 1.2 teraflop graphics core. So that's another tick on the Durango leaked spec that has been transposed across to the final Xbox One architecture and the proof we need that PlayStation 4's 18 CU graphics core has 50 per cent more raw power than the GPU in the new Microsoft console.

one of my brother's best friends was some sort of pro gamer when it came to halo 2 and 3... he actually went to events.

i hated playing with him because it was not fun at all.

We were in HS and we always talked about how we could go pro in doubles

we played on the same screen and we just played so well together. we played so much and for so long together that we didnt even really talk we knew where the other was or was going to be.

literally we did not lose but a handful of times that we werent cheated. We use to get banned for cheating alot because we would beat people so bad theyd get pissed

Read somewhere that MS paid $400 million (!) for their NFL partnership. They are going the extra mile to do all of this.
