Xbox internet question

So if I connect my xbox one to intnernet wifi, I get internet. When I connect my ethernet chord to the router directly, it says im connected, but that I have no internet. Its a brand new 25 foot ethernet chord that worked perfectly the first couple of days, but now everytime I connect it from router to xbox, it says its connected but with no internet.
Im literally at a loss for words on how this doesnt make sense. Anybody know what im doing wrong?
Edit: when I unplug my ethernet chord, causing it to go back to wifi, the internet works just fine. Makes no sense...
So the NAT type is unavailable.

Ive put the ethernet chord in different inputs on the router. Like I said, it worked fine at first and now its causing me issues. It shows that it is wired up when I connect it.

Does that ethernet cord work with a laptop or desktop computer?

Don't tell us that internet doesn't work. Check the network config for the Xbox after plugging it in. Is it getting a private IP with the proper subnet mask? Is it getting a default gateway?

Did you redo the setup and make it wired not wireless?

Immediate thought is that the XBox isn't pulling an IP address from the router.
Also, are you connecting the XBox to the Wifi coming off of your modem, but using a router hooked into the modem for the hardwire connection (or vice versa)? It may not be releasing the IP from one, and won't be compatible with the other.

I have to routinely hard reset my Xbox, because Xbox live won’t connect after turning the system on.

Happens to me frequently too.

If the ip starts with 169.254 then it’s not getting a proper ip

i told him this on the tech board
check the IP if its 169 then its probably a DHCP issue.
