I finally started doing my NG+ playthrough. I'm actually playing the 1.0.0 version of it because I wanted to play with the full unnerfed difficulty primarily. Thankfully the 1.0 version is totally fine to play so if you wanna get it physical for PS5 that's def a plus.
I'm tearing through it quickly this time around. As usual with these games you start out NG+ way OP. I'm reaching the end of act 2 now and the difficulty is finally starting to catch up.
Doing a few NPC quests a little differently this time and found a couple things I missed the first time around and will do a different ending too.
As usual with these games you pick up a lot more subtle details in the story the second time around.
Game really is great, the studio management needs to get out of their own way. I wanna see more from this studio cuz for a first outing the game is top notch. But they seem determined to sabotage themselves.

Chinese-made soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, set in historical China, is now owned by... Italians?
If they unfrick what Leenzee did in Patch 1.5, it may go back on my "buy" list.

It's one of the free PS+ games of the month for May. Sucks we can't get the unpatched version though.

Didn't know we had a thread already.
This is the 2nd best soulslike on the market after Lies of P. Was really impressed with it.
ETA: Seeing yalls posts has made investigate this 1.5 patch. Didnt realize it had all this controversy

Yeah, they basically ruined the third act because a bunch of whiny Chinese bitches brigaded it over their fee-fees.

Wuchang sequel in development and it sounds like the director from the first game is back.

WUCHANG’s story is far from over. Today, we’re excited to share that 505 Games has officially entered into a new partnership with Xia Siyuan, the original creator of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, and his new studio Indolphinity (Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology), to jointly create a brand-new chapter of the WUCHANG IP.
WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers hit over 130,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch and reached a total of 5 million players across PC and console platforms since then.
Along the way, we’ve remembered every bit of your support, feedback, and expectations.
As of now, the WUCHANG sequel has officially entered its preparation phase: Indolphinity will lead the creative development, while 505 Games will provide funding and global publishing.
Future development will remain firmly rooted in China.
As Xia Siyuan says: “We listen closely to the real voices of players and the community, and we remain firmly devoted to our original creative aspirations and cultural foundations, striving to answer everyone’s long-standing expectations with more polished quality and a more complete experience.”
A new chapter of WUCHANG is already on the way. We hope to meet you again and continue this journey together.

This is great news, it probably is the best non-Fromsoft Soulslikes I've played.
Felt very much like in line with Dark Souls 1 which to me is still the pinnacle of the genre so I had extra appreciation for it.
From what I understand a lot of the talent followed the director to his new studio too, so hopefully all the important people from the first game are still there. It was always clear a sequel was coming but I was orried it would involve a whole new crew so it coulda been a totally dfiferent story.

Holy shite that is huge news. Wow
With the exception of Lies of P, Wuchang is the best Soulslike out there. They really understand what makes FromSoft games special

Did you play it after the updates (i.e., patches to censor it)? If so, is it still worth playing?

Thanks! I claimed it when it was free on PS+ in May, so I'll give it a shot at some point.

I might be missing out on the greatest thing ever, but until they unfrick Chapter 4, it's a pass for me.

Chapter 4 is like an hour long and consists of you fighting the same trash mobs you've killed hundreds of times while backtracking through areas you've already explored. It's very much a straight-shot, beeline chapter with no exploration and 3 bosses alone the way.
The only difference with the patch is that originally you were in 3-way combat against two warring factions who fight as you make your way through the battlefield. After the patch, one of the factions ignores you. It's relatively immaterial to the overall experience. Other than 2 great bosses, the chapter overall is a total afterthought
If you really want to experience it as originally presented, just download the 1.4 patch rollback from Nexus
