Wolfenstein the New Order was one of my favorite games of 2014 and one of my favorite games of this console generation. It had gameplay that reminded me of a lot of old school shooters along with a good story albeit one that didn't take itself too seriously.

Wolfenstein 2 is a good game, but it is not a great game. I thought the story sucked this time around. It takes itself too seriously and relies too much on gratuitous violence for shock value. Somehow the developers managed to suck the fun out of mass-murdering Nazis by spending so much time reminding us that white people are racist.
The new characters don't do anything interesting and many plot points go unresolved, presumably left for the inevitable Wolfenstein 3.

The level design is a step down from the original. All the levels were very same-y for the most part. It's a lot of grey/white/red industrial hallways. Aside from a couple levels, you really don't spend all that much time at all feeling as if you are running and gunning across Nazi occupied USA.

Wolfenstein 2 retains the same run and gun gameplay as the original but it's more poorly done. You spend a decent amount of time watching cutscenes or not being in control of your character.

When you do gain control, the developers seem to discourage run and gun in favor of a methodical stealth approach. There seems to be many more instances of guards who can radio for backup than in the first game. Many times, if you're caught, a seemingly endless array of Nazi badguys will spawn on you. Your character is also ludicrously weak for the amount of things the game throws at you at times. It's also as if the developers of the game knew this as they allow for manual saves even in the console version, so you could literally save after ever enemy you defeat and not worry about restarting from a checkpoint.

The SJW virtue signalling is bad.

TNO is better, but the expansion fleshes out the WW2 era story a bit more and actually has you explore Castle Wolfenstein.

I thought it was terrible honestly. I haven’t traded a game in before and I am trading it in.

Watch this: LINK He covers a lot of issues, but misses a few gameplay quirks I hated

The game was just lazy

I agree. I loved The New Order and The Old Blood but was really disappointed in part 2. I did not mind the insane story or the "sjw pandering" as some are calling it. It just was not fun to play. The level design and how weak you are through much of the game just slowed down the pace so much it was more frustrating than fun. Even when your health increases I never felt comfortable with going in guns blazing which was part of the fun in part one. Constanly looking for health and armor also became a chore.
