The final demo will feature two early stages of the game that were not featured in the first demo, including Chapter 1: Village of Calamity along with Chapter 2: Two Chivalrous Heroes.
Both chapters showcase the thrilling combat and intense fighting of a demon-plagued, fantasy Three Kingdoms, as nameless militia soldier fights his way through waves of monsters and enemy soldiers in this Later Han Dynasty epic.
Online multiplayer will also be available in the demo, and by clearing the first chapter and transferring the saved data to the main game, players will earn the in-game item “Crouching Dragon Helmet” upon the game’s release.

NOTE:
The Crouching Dragon Helmet can be obtained by clearing the first chapter and carrying the save data from the demo to the main game.
This is the same bonus item as the demo from September.
The bonus can be obtained in the retail version of the game.
Anyone going to check out the demo this weekend? I have over 1000 hours combined in Nioh and Nioh 2, but didn't play the first Wo Long demo.
Updated the Subject line to transition from the demo to the full release.

How does Nioh compare to games like Sekiro and Darks Souls? Been meaning to try them for a while.

Nioh borrows a lot from dark souls. It’s got some different mechanics though and the inventory system is completely different. First nioh was good. Still haven’t played the 2nd though

Nioh and Nioh 2 are amazing, but you're going to have a bad time if you approach them like a Souls game (they're also nothing like Sekiro).
You really need to master the ki/ki pulse system to ensure you maintain your endurance. You also want to actually block, rather than dodge.
The combat can be much more complex because you have three different stances with lots of interesting combos and attack/defense bonuses based on the gear sets you're wearing.
Honestly, it seems like people either think the games are AMAZING or they hate them (mostly due to difficulty because people don't take the time to learn the mechanics and just try to play them like Souls games).
Nioh 2 made a lot of QoL changes and introduced new mechanics, so even though Nioh 2 is objectively a better game, it'd be tough to start with Nioh 2 and then go to Nioh.

Gotcha. Will definitely give it a try. Finally getting this parrying system down on Wo Long and have been having a blast. I really have no clue what to invest stat points in right now though.

Just finished the demo. Loved every minute of it.

I just finished the first level, and not sure how I feel about it.
It's completely different from Nioh and feels like a game that would occur if Sekiro and Dynasty Warriors had a baby
However, it seems like the combat would be pretty satisfying once you're able to master all the mechanics (e.g. deflects, martial arts, wizardy, etc.).

Definitely got a lot of Sekiro vibes from it, which I loved. I still ha e. I clue where to go with the skill tree. I'll have to read some guides to see where to go. I didnt find it overly difficult, but had a blast playing it. Would you recommend me start on Nioh or Nioh 2 for my first of those games?

I wouldn't worry about it right now, you can always respec. In the Nioh games, you don't even worry about builds until like NG++. It'll be interesting to see if Team Ninja approaches Wo Long like they did with Nioh, where the first few NG cycles are just the tutorial and then shite gets real and you start making legit builds. The endgame is the best part of those games.

Definitely start with Nioh. Nioh 2 is a better game and they added a lot of QoL changes to make the mechanics better, but if you start with Nioh 2, going back to Nioh is going to suck and you'll miss a lot of the improvements they made in Nioh 2. Not sure if you use Reddit, but the Nioh subreddit is still really active and there are a lot of helpful people there (same with the Nioh Discord channel).
Also, you absolutely need to get all the DLCs with the Nioh games. The DLCs add weapons, armors, missions, and NG cycles. So they're well worth it (although they're included if you buy the "Nioh Collection" so you don't have to buy them separately).
The one thing to warn you about though is that the loot system is wild. It's like Diablo-style loot, so you do spend quite a bit of time going through everything and selling it, scrapping it, etc. So if inventory management pisses you off, you might not enjoy the games (of course, you could just not pick up all the loot

ETA: One thing to clarify...in the Nioh games, you're meant to play through 5 NG cycles to get to the true endgame. However, you don't need to 100% every NG cycle. In Nioh, there are regions with missions. In the NG cycles, you don't need to complete EVERY mission to advance to the next region. There's a progress bar that fills up as you complete missions, and once it fills up, you can move on. So while you may want to 100% everything on NG, typically you speed run the next NG cycles and just do the bare minimum to advance to the next region.

Pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe version this morning. $90 including taxes, but it includes the season pass for three separate DLCs that'll be released in the future. So I guess the price isn't too terrible.
The Nioh DLCs added a TON of content, so hopefully Team Ninja follows the same pattern with Wo Long.

I plan on grabbing it on launch given how much I've enjoyed Nioh & Nioh 2. Team Ninja has made a fan out of me

definitely. I won't even mess with the demo. I'll just wait for the full game. Hogwarts has been a boring slog so I'm looking forward to a nice challenge again.

Not even going to beat the first level in the demo to get that sweet helmet?

Also, because deflects are pretty much required (a la Sekiro), it helps to hold block while trying to deflect so in case you miss the deflect, you're still blocking.

Anyone have any idea how long it is? Looks pretty bad arse. Have it loaded and ready for tomorrow.

This past Summer, the director said roughly 40 hours. Powerpyx said roughly 40-50 hours to platinum it, although I think that time will greatly depend on skill level.
But with the Nioh games, the NG playthrough was essentially a tutorial and then in NG+, NG++, etc. you'd get access to better loot where you could fully flesh out endgame builds. I know NG+ in Wo Long gives you access to "five star" gear, whereas gear is capped at four stars in NG, but I don't think any reviewers have gotten to NG++ yet

Saw a stream of this and it looks pretty sick

One really awesome feature I saw in reviews so far is that you can respec for free, create different builds (called Battle Sets in the game) in the hub area, and switch builds at any of the "bonfire" flags (called Battle Flags in the game) during a level.
So say you're s Strength build and you're getting clapped by a boss. No problem, just go to a "bonfire" flag and pick the Magic build that you've already saved. No need to leave the level, use any item to effect the change, etc.

Man, both good posts. Thanks for the info
Looking forward to this tomorrow. Can’t believe it’s on GamePass.

I'm pretty sure you can get it in the full game, but I think I read you get the 4-star version for beating the first boss in the demo and there won't be a 4-star version in the game (as far as I can tell, the more "stars" a piece of armor has, the more slots it has for attributes (i.e. +5 damage to poisoned enemies, etc.)).
Also, because deflects are pretty much required (a la Sekiro), it helps to hold block while trying to deflect so in case you miss the deflect, you're still blocking.
Just beat the demo again. Really cool game. Do we have to do anything special for our saves to transfer over?
