I'm enjoying it. The fight controls are a little different than I'm used to. I'm not yet used to the lock on system. The camera stays the same, but your guy turns any way.

The story has been awesome so far, although I haven't really played that much of it yet.

Gonna play a lot tomorrow.

The manual says blocking uses up vigor, but I haven't noticed that. When I use a sign, a chunk of it disappears though. I could be missing it but I don't think that happens when I block or parry. Also manual said you do more damage the more vigor you have. I didn't realize that at the beginning.

Jeff you gotta use bombs to deal with several enemies at one time. Or you can run around and aggro bandits and drowned into each other

Thankfully the lovely and invincible Tess did all the killing while I ran in circles trying not to die.

Your strat sounds good too

Yeah I haven't used bombs too much yet. But oils and potions all the time. Can't wait to upgrade igni.

I know .

From what I've seen so far, I agree. The world is so much better and more realistic, combat is MILES AHEAD (doesn't feel like your beating a stuffed animal). Loading times are way better. Game looks better and not nearly as cartoonish.

Most importantly, though, every quest has a personal feel to me. In Skyrim. some quests are obviously there as fetch quests for xp and rewards. Every quest I've played so far (all the sidequests in Flotsam) is very well thought out.

Anyways, carson, how are you developing your char?

2 pts in Hardiness, 2 in Parrying, 2 in vigor regen, 1 in dagger throwing, 1 in Fortitude, 1 in Aard Sign, 1 in riposte, 1 in footwork. I doubt I'll mess with Alchemy too much

Couldn't agree more. I was thinking about the quests specifically earlier. A lot of the quests felt like a chore in skyrim, and the quests in witcher 2 are way more enjoyable.. So far.

Beating a stuffed animal nice.

Saw the commercial, looked cool but I wasn't convinced. I read this thread and I'm off to buy it. I need something to cleanse my palate after rounds of BF3.

Fair warning. Its a RPG through and through. Dialogue, character development, quests, decisions.

But a lot of combat, too

I was really really really interested in this, but my PC couldn't handle it.

I have to pick this up.

In that mental hospital Axii saved me big time, while the wraiths fought each other i laid down a yrden trap. Hit them with a few sword strokes, a stun bomb, then roll away and repeat.

Does anyone else find Geralt to be an extremely likable character? I love him. Reminds me a lot of John Marston
