Bioshock in 2007 was one of those things which changed me. Sort of like a book, movie, album or some other event that helps usher in a different tone for an altered perspective. Nothing besides Half-Life has shaped me more so than that first dive into Rapture.

Half-Life 2, Bioshock, F.E.A.R. and City of Heroes during the early 2000s brought me to PC gaming. I'll even go as far to say that the skills acquired as an enthusiast helped place me into my current career.

I picked it up out of curiosity. The opening, going into the lighthouse and seeing the bust of Ryan is something I'll never forget. It blows the landing, but everything up until you meet Sander Cohen is pretty special.

One guy lead me to Half Life, Steam and ultimately Bioshock. I resisted on Bioshock at first but eventually gave in and was sorry I waited. He hasn't logged into Steam in years though. F.E.A.R. was a game I played and love that nobody else seemed interested in and I just don't get it.

For some reason console players not picked up on how good F.E.A.R. was at the time. The AI was like nothing else and still haven't experienced "oh shtt, game with the light on" moments from another title.

I just picked it up and letting it install. I'll dive into it for an hour or two.

Amazon was out of stock for both platforms last night.

If I could ask Ken Levine anything, I'd ask about his fetish for gun turrets.

Also, the ramblings of Comstock are more relevant now than three years ago.

I gamed a whole lot more back before 2007 then had a kid. Picked up Bioshock right when Infinity came out. Pretty awesome series.

I think my favorite thing about Bioshock was the asian doctor. Can't recall his name. Whoever voiced him deserves some kind of award.

Are you speaking of his misfire with Daisy in Infinite?
