re: What games have you wanted to play but just feel too daunting?

Idk about Daunting but I have an extremely hard time playing games that present a very important obviously time sensitive main quest line and then just pepper the entire world with meaningless side content in comparison. Fall out 4 is the biggest offender of this and it’s why I still haven’t played more than 4 hours of it. Ghost of Tsushima is an example of how to do this flawlessly.

Fallout 4, GTA 5, every Co-op FPS, Skyrim
I did get over the dauntingness and beat Witcher 3. Just started Blood & Wine DLC.

I’m jelly I wish I could experience Witcher 3 again. The DLCs are up there with Bloodborne for best expansions. They’re releasing a new version soon with some added Dlc based on the Tv show so I might do another play through then but it’s not new content. Armor swords gwent cards and so on.

Honestly, I couldn’t get into Gwent. I haven’t completed a single Gwent sidequest, but I’ve finished every main game and Heart of Stone hunt and non-gwent sidequest, and cleared every question mark in White Orchard, Velen, and Novograd. I still have a bunch of question marks offshore in Skellige, and I’ve barely scratched the surface of Blood and Wine.

Gwent is legit one of my favorite parts of the game
it gets more exciting as you progress it is a bit boring at the outset. The high stakes tpurnarment quest in Novigrad is one of the best one off side quest in the game as well.

I realize I should've added Assassin's Creed to this. Especially the last few of the series. I own Odyssey and Valhalla and started them but I'm not sure why I jumped of it.

As much as I love Oblivion, that's always irked me. The world is literally ending any moment, and I'm fricking around helping an old woman figure out why her pet rats keep dying

For me this is Football Manager.
I was the same way forever. But two years ago I nabbed the Touch version on sale and it was the perfect amount of control without being batshit crazy. If you have a Switch or an ipad I'd recommend starting there. It's a good starting point to decide if you want to dive into the full version.

Hearts of Iron IV.
I opened that game one time and haven't opened it since. I feel like I need to take a college course to understand that game.
