Activision needs to know they need to actually start listening to the fanbase.

Do they? They keep buying the damn thing.

I played one match and it reminded me too much of Overwatch. Wasn’t my jam. Uninstalled.

i’m not sure either.

as i said in my initial launch review, I’d chose regular ol killstreaks over the factions 9/10 times. I just don’t like the fact that you don’t earn the abilities, they just reset after so long.

that’s true. can’t deny the numbers.

why people purchase $20-30 skins i’ll never know. bankrolling activision.

doesn’t mean competition wouldn’t be good for Activision. some of the best CODs have released the same year as BF titles. Not by accident.

that had nothing to do with it. it was more so the game mode i was put in where you have to escort the robot. it's too scripted of a game mode vs the randomness of TDM/Dom.

i actually was pretty competitive given i was playing with a controller and not a m/kb.

i will say it also didn't "feel" like CoD seeing as to how that's one of the main appeals of CoD and the way it plays if that makes sense.

i don't see XDefiant being a "CoD Killer", but i can see how it can be enjoyable for those that want something different. i can also see it being successful in it's own right.

I’m fricking with you. Those are valid points. Some of which I touched on in my initial review.

IMO. My biggest gripe is, it needs work with hit detection. and it certainly isn’t a snappy or fluid as COD yet. I found a settings video that helped me a lot. LINK. Also, like I said earlier it’s also important you understand that there is minimal aim assist compared to how COD you snap to players. There’s also no body shot multipliers. Headshots are king much like Halo. And I agree that this game is going to need to TDM and Free for All.

Its important to remember this a brand new title. Brand new Dev Team assembled by Ubisoft to develop this title. There have been 20+ COD revisions that have built upon each other. The clickbait titles and articles calling XDefiant a “COD Killer” did the game a disservice. And pissed off a lot of tryhard COD fanbois who do nothing but shite on XDefiant now instead of giving it a fair shot and time to improve. When asked about being the “COD Killer”, Mark Rubin said that isn’t the games’ intent. They wanted to create an old school 6v6 arcade shooter with little to no SBMM and minimal micro transactions. It’s their passion project. They want a game that gives you that same feeling we all had with COD4. I’m paraphrasing, but that’s pretty close to his statement on it.

The reality is: COD can’t be killed, unfortunately. But it needs actual competition and a reset at minimum. I find it interesting that TreyArch has been absolutely silent about BO6 for months, but within this week released a bunch of hype trailers and now MW3 has given us a 10 day double XP event ahead of season 5 release, strange timing. Hopefully it’s Activision feeling the heat.

1 million unique concurrent players on a Tuesday mid-day while the launch servers are shitting the bed? Not bad. I think there’s hope. Particularly if they continue with continuous improvement, listening to their community, and being transparent with the community.

Double weapon xp until Tuesday. Much needed because the grind for attachments is brutal.

Just played for about 1.5-2 hours and got to level 11.

Escort and Hot Shot are my two favorite modes.

It’s a pretty refreshing change up from COD. The slide jump feels good, ads shooting feels a tad stiff (but will tinker with that).

Some of the hit reg is off, but I do like the health meter on opponents. Will play some more later.

I had great servers the entire time.

Having a blast playing. It’s “fun” and doesn’t feel like a second job trying to have a good match like CoD does. The snipers are annoying tho. They ADS way too quick.

really enjoying XDefiant so far!

guns are well balanced.
maps are great.
i like the faction skills / ultimates vs kilsltreaks, it promotes teamwork.

netcode needs polishing. and it needs more game modes. but other than that….

Like how they’re doing double xp on weekends. Been using the incinerator drone class and the most. The burning damage from bullets is too good.

Pretty close to unlocking the dedsec class so I’ll be trying that out. Those little spiders are annoying as hell to play against.

Downloaded this on a whim a week ago and it’s fun. Sure you run into hopping and sliding sweats but the gameplay is smooth, guns and abilities are fun.

Not sure how long it’s going to last but it should keep most of us preoccupied until College Football 25 comes out

nice start but the sway activates on the 3rd jump and the TTK is pretty quick. won't really change much, i imagine its still a bunny hop fest right now post patch

Need to adjust that and then do something about snipers and their lack of flinch.
