Don't want to be too harsh.. but I trust Corsair as much as I want a bullet in my scull.. I have bought 4 of their memory boards before, and every single time the memory was corrupt and ended up messing up my computer..

I'm on year 3 of my custom PC, all I've done was add an additional GPU and some RAM.

No. Ram installation/removal is probably the easiest customizing you can do to a computer. Just turn off the computer power, unpplug it, open it up, insert/remove ram. Done.
You never really have to reinstall windows unless you're switching out major components like processor and motherboard, which even then it's not necessary, but recommended.
