It's video games. I try not to be critical and just have a little fun. It's all opinion anyway. Maybe some people like the many cutscenes for immersion. I thought the cutscenes helped carry the story and were very funny and entertaining.
I think the writing and voice acting in the Unchartered series was the best in the industry.. up there with Last of Us and such.

Interesting. It's the only one of the modern Far Cry's that I haven't tried yet, got it for free as a uplay sale promotion a while back. Maybe I'll give it a whirl.

Goodness man what could you have possibly not liked about Origins?. That game was incredible. I was addicted to it for over a month lol.

It was the first AC game I had played since Black Flag and it felt so freaking repetitive.
The story was non-stop, ‘oh this person had something to do with my tragedy, kill them’. That’s all it ever felt like I was doing.
I got the base game and all DLC for like $60 and played for maybe 20 hours and gave up. I just didn’t enjoy the experience.
That’s just me though. I know plenty of people enjoyed it.
The only other game I quit playing this decade before beating it was the Uncharted collection and Star Wars Battlefront. The latter took me an hour to download and I played maybe for 45 minutes before taking it back to the Redbox. That’s how bad the game was.

The first time I played thru 13 I hated it. The last two times I quite enjoyed it, maybe because I went in knowing how arse backwards the story was. It's also quite annoying how they give all of these things in the game confusing arse names like L'Cie and Fal'Cie without actually taking the time to explain any of them in depth. You get glimpses of what they are and the game expects you to fill in the rest yourself.
13 may have the best soundtrack in the series, at least imo. I even like it better than 7's, which says a lot. The battle system is also one of the funnest in the series, although initially it can seem pretty mundane. The amount of combinations you can have between the different roles for each character in the three-party character battles feels limitless, which I enjoyed a lot, especially considering you have to thoughtfully choose which combination to use given what scenario you are in. Obviously it's much more prevalent in boss battles, where your victory is predicated on how timely you are as well as staggering the enemy when the opportunity presents itself. Overall it was a lot of fun for me.
With how confusing the story is and the exorbitant amount of cutscenes, I can most certainly understand why you dislike the game so much. I think the battle system and music alone kept me playing the game throughout, even though the game lost me with its characters and story or lack thereof.

FF game though. With that said I loathe Hope; the worst video game character in history. However, I really like 13-2 even though Hope plays a major role in that game as well and he is still just as awful.
I also understand the Andromeda hate in this thread because the story was ridiculously bad and they took away the ability to really control your teammates. For some reason though, I really enjoy playing it.
