Haven’t really been into gaming since PS2 was the main console. Messed around on my sons PS4 a bit but that’s the extent of my recent gaming. Considering buying my own PS4 for Christmas. What are the must have games for this console. Back in the day I enjoyed FPS games and quest style games (God of War, etc. ). Recently I’ve enjoyed the Uncharted games.

-The Last of Us Remastered (same developer as Uncharted)
-Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
-Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (if you want even more Uncharted)
-Titanfall 2 is a FPS and its single player campaign is supposed to be excellent, but I don't think the multiplayer took off as some expected / hoped
-Doom
-Wolfenstein: The New Order
-Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
-Assassin's Creed Origins
-Horizon Zero Dawn

...and a new God of War game is being worked on.

Edit: And you should check out Bloodborne but that might be challenging to get into if you've been out of gaming for a while. Read up / watch some reviews so you know what you're signing up for.

The new God of War comes out next year. Look into Arkham Knight or maybe Mad Max for other action adventure type gamrs.

The commercials for the new Star Wars game look good. Any dirt on it?

I'm a pretty big Star Wars fan and I would avoid it. Though I know it has a single player campaign, I've heard it's terrible. And the multiplayer has an aggressive "pay to win" structure to it where shelling out more cash gets you better weapons and characters much quicker than normal players. EA appears to be trying to fix that but I don't trust they actually will.

This video does a decently entertaining job of explaining the game's failings.

If you want a sci-fi multiplayer shooter in the same vein as something like Star Wars, I'd go with Destiny or maybe Destiny 2.

Agree.

Money is better spent on this year's latest Lego Star Wars series if you collect. The single player campaign in the game is hot garbage. It is almost a slap in the face to say that it is even a campaign with the length and how fast your character jumps alliances.

I would check out the Bioshock Collection and Metro Redux. Both are remaster collections of last gen FPS games that are fantastic. If you like Uncharted you should check out the new Tomb Raider games as well.

These are some good recommendations. The Borderlands Collection is also a good investment for someone who missed those games.
