Apparently nothing. BOTW was perfect in every way and didn’t have a single flaw.

This is at least what Nintendo seems to believe. It’s the message sent by tears very loudly

There’s no other way to explain the bizzare choice of tears of the kingdom, a game I did not enjoy and isn’t good. You don’t literally remake the same game basically with the literal same map 1 for 1 and not address any not even ONE of breath of the wilds many flaws if you don’t think think you have perfected it or you’re just a delusional person. Oh and this took them like 6 years to do. It’s utterly bizarre

Did they?

Says who? And why does this sound oddly familiar as an argument as something I see all the time from mostly shite libs on social media whenever you critique something they consider “children’s content.”

As if children don’t deserve quality media that’s not lazy and embarrassing as a premium product

Also care to guess what the average age of the switch adopters are at least for switch 2 data?

Drum roll…..37

So yes it would seem they’re making it for me

lol such a dumb comment. They are making the game for whoever is willing to buy the game. I bought the games and am free to comment on the aspects of gameplay that I find unappealing.

As I just posted the average age from the best data we have for switch 2 adoption is 37.

His comment doesn’t even reflect reality

I don’t own a switch 2 dog. I’d rather shoot my dog than buy that overpriced ps4 level power “console” that has nothing worth playing.

I bought a switch 1 4 years after its launch and used it specifically for breath of the wild and xeonoblade 2

Blasphemy. Zelda 2 is amazing to me. Happiest I’ve ever been playing a video game in my entire life was when I stumbled through the cave maze with half a box of life to finally get the hammer

Nothing has compared since.

Is it too much to ask for a remake of Ocarina of Time with a BOTW sized world to explore?

But why? Hyrule Field was already a ton of empty space on 64. I know people hate on degrading weapons in BOTW and TOTK, but it encouraged exploration. If most of the weapons are in dungeons, there won't be a big reason to go exploring.

Having said that, I would love to see the next game go back to the classic style of linear dungeons. I am curious what they would do to make it feel expansive.

Heart pieces, bottles, other items, side quests, meeting side characters. The first time I played OOT, I spent more time exploring everywhere than I did in dungeons. Trying to max out hearts, collect all the Skulltulas, trying to figure out how to upgrade capacity on items like wallet, bomb bag, and quiver.

If they bring over the armor upgrade dynamics from BOTW / TOTK, that's more reason to go exploring too.

They can remake OOT and use the original story and throw in some N64 nostalgia, but blend in elements from the newer games too. Maybe not force you to do the temples in a specific order as adult Link or something.

I may be a victim of being late to the party, but the controls on OOT & Majora's Mask make me want to day-drink.

I hate the controller scheme. The N64 controller was straight trash and I'm never going to apologize for hating it.

Agreed. While graphics updates would be great, I really want a remake/remaster of those 2 games strictly for a new controller scheme. The Switch Online stuff for the 64 games are still a chore because it uses the old 64 scheme. Just to be able to play Goldeneye in that format I had to completely remap the buttons on the switch which is a pain in the arse.

Just a heads up, but you can remap controls in the Switch 1/2 online virtual console games.

Edit - I posted before reading all the way lol.

Can’t think about the N64 without thinking about OOT. I never played it but it was the game all my friends and cousins received Christmas morning with their n64 along with Mario 64 so I was always watching them play

I got Bomberman, Rampage, and Gex with mine

My N64 was almost exclusively a Shadows of the Empire/Rogue Squadron machine.
