When I was a kid that quest (ranch) really freaked me out. I remember being so nervous.

That entire game was stressful and engaging. IMO the best RPG ever.

This gerudo fortress would be so infuriating without the stone mask.

mask.

I remember a story from about 9 years ago now...

I told a girl that the bunny hood was in Ocarina of Time when she said it was only in Majora's Mask (between the two).

I owned her and told her it's OoT.

I remained a virgin for 6 more years.

I made it to the entry of Stone Tower.

Ikana valley is awesome. Lol at trying to do that without a guide. The well then the castle then the ascension to the top..hah.

This game has definitely grown on me. It's brilliant

Stone tower temple is a bitch.

IIRC, there's only one mask left to get there. Going to the moon with all of he mask except the bottom right yields a cool reward.

I think I have 7 masks left to get.

the creativity that went into these masks is great.

one to keep me awake listening to Grandma's stories

a secret milk club that requires a mask to enter

a mask to let me teach two women a new dance

then bunny hop, stone for functionality

I think when I look back on this in 5-10 years, I will hold MM in higher regard than I did OOT.

I realize this is entirely because im using a guide so I can do "all the cool stuff" without having to figure it out myself. and the 72 hour countdown doesn't effect me because I know exactly where to go.

even still, game is phenomenal

You made it to the Stone Tower without the Bunny Hood? You're going to slap yourself for not getting that one on your second cycle. If I ever had normal Link, then that mask was on unless I had something very specific to do.

I wasn't speaking in any kind of order. Just stringing together unrelated comments

I've had the hood for a long time

Lol if I still had to get the bunny hood. I don't know what 7 I still need aside from fierce diety

This thread has been great. It's really got me wanting to go on a Zelda binge. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I have some 3DS questions. I have an old Wii and have TP on it, but I have a baby on the way and we've pretty much put the Wii in storage to make room. I keep seeing that you guys play various Zelda games on the 3Ds. This seems perfect to just be able to pick up and play anywhere. I know I could probably just Google a lot of these questions, but I've enjoyed the thread and want to see it keep going.

Is the 3Ds essentially a modern version of the Gameboy? Meaning, my wife can be watching TV next to me and I can play sitting on the couch with it in my lap?
How many Zelda games are available? I saw people mention Oot and MM. It also looks like another 2d one was made specifically for it.
Do the games come in cartridges or discs? Or do you download them on the device?
Are other classic N64 games available (Mario 64, DK64, etc)

I'll leave it at just those questions for now.

not sure, definitely OoT remastered and Majoras Mask remastered

both. there is a "virtual console" so you can download stuff.

Thanks, man. I doubt I do much more than use this for nostalgic purposes, so I'm thinking I'd look into a used one on Amazon or something unless someone really thinks that's a bad idea.

I have defeated Majoras Wrath with the Fierce Deity Mask and saved Termina.

All things considered, imo, MM > OoT. Mm is truly a spectacular game with no equal. It really grew on me after the Great Bay Temple

The whole ending sequence was a bit confusing so I did a little reading. The Happy Mask Salesman is a strange guy, and the 5 children on the moon looking like him is unsettling.

Not entirely sure what he is tbh. He gives me the song of healing and bookends the adventure, but also is the one who brought the mask to termina knowing what it is. He also is all-knowing. And how is the skull kid from OoT friends with the Giants?

Anyways, wind waker HD is downloaded and I'm about to begin that one.

Windwaker was very good also.

Majoras mask is the GOT as far as I'm concerned though. It's an incredible game.

I can also agree that I found MM to be better than OoT, but I can see how the play style and multiple mask mini quests would possibly not appeal to others. But I love MM and I love how dark and desperate the world is.

I second this. Windwaker is a great game. It's actually a really good one to play after Majora. The colors, graphics and game as a whole are great.
