The e3 hype for the new zelda was so strong I bought a refurbished Wii U and downloaded OoT.

I've never played any zelda except maybe a link to the past on Nintendo 25 years ago, so its all new to me.

Even though the game is 18 years old, it holds up very well.

The graphics obviously aren't great but that's fine.

The story is interesting. Combat is fun. Solving puzzles and trying to complete quests has been a blast.

I've had to use a guide a few times. I couldn't imagine trying to figure this shite out without help.

I've just completed the fire temple. It's been my favorite temple, so far.

OoT veterans know what temple is next. I'm nervous and scared .

The forest temple took me forever. The boss fight wrecked me.

In summary, I see why OoT is the GOAT. So far it's lived up to all the hype I have heard about it.

Wish me luck..I'm going in the Water...

What should my order be?

OOT
MM

Then tp, ss, ww?

Water temple isn't as bad as people say. Just be thorough

Easy to say that when you know everything about it. It definitely deserves its reputation.

OoT, MM, and TP are all in the same timeline branch so that would probably be the best path. After that it's just whatever fits your fancy.

It played to my play style. I can see how people get lost but it just took time for me.

I'm going in completely blind Pretty exciting.

The two adult temples I've played so far are impressive. They packed a ton of content into each dungeon. Each room has been memorable.

The child dungeons were fun too. Unique and creative challenges in every room it feels. The game makes me think more so than most others.

Don't use the guide for the water temple.

It's a good one

I don't think any of those OoT temples are hard. Just don't have a shtty memory and be patient. IDK how adults get stressed out if 7th grade me had no issues with it.

I'm a MM fan, but mostly because i'm a little darker then most and like the feeling of hopeless you get from start to finish with that title. Its also the main reason I love Valve games so much like Half-Life and Portal.

How did it go again?

If Link fails in OoT he goes the MM path but if he succeeds he goes which path?

I'll admit I had to use a guide to figure out to pick up the bitch fish princess inside Jabu jabu.

And a few times inside the forest one. The Poe paintings and the switch for the twisted hallway.

I think the wii u controller with a joystick replacing the 4 C buttons adds unnecessary challenge. I go to aim my bow but accidently click Navi or grab a bomb etc.

Aside from that, no complaints

The Gamecube's gamepad was a pretty ideal controller and the last good controller from Nintendo. The GC's gamepad is even better than the Wii U's "Pro Controller" IMO.

Edt: Is the Wii U versions the same updated versions which re-released on the 3DS?

I have to..

Its a progression. I explain myself then lay out how I hate women, religion and mainstream screamo bands.

No, it is not.

I considered buying a 3ds for the updated version with Master quest and improved textures but went with the wii u in the end.

229 for the refurbed unit from gamestop and 10 bucks from virtual console for the game, if anyone else has a zelda itch

Man that sucks. The virtual console IMO should be the updated version. The game looks great on 3DS on that small form factor.

Still enjoyable im sure.

I agree. Apparently Nintendo wants to keep the updated version exclusive to 3ds to move units
