basically enemies you kill stay dead for an in game week or month (I'm not sure) then there's a blood moon and they respawn. Its really good and then they throw in this cool little sequence every time it happens.

enemies just randomly respawning without an explanation or within a set of rules wouldn't be consistent with the level of detail elsewhere in the game

blood moon is also the mechanic used to farm Mini bosses like Stone Talus in the great plateau

he drops a lot of stuff and every blood moon, respawns.

I feel like there must be some quests or events that only occur during a blood moon

Amazon has 20% off all Switch games for Prime members, including pre-orders. I just pre-ordered Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Odyssey.

It's probably been mentioned, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I need to use the environment more.

someone on reddit just suggested having a metal weapon out during a t-storm to charge it, then throw it at an enemy so the lightning burst strikes them. bonus points if you kite them into a puddle

also using magnesis to drop crates on moblin's heads. shooting explosive crates with fire arrows from far away, etc.

I've been mostly exploring during my playtime. Tried to knock out some towers but now I'm encountering elemental/temperature issues.

Got to my first divine beast before I hung it up last night.

Pretty solid game thus far. I haven't had a Nintendo console since the GameCube. So far I'm enjoying this decision to jump back into the fold.

the console and Zelda both so far have the Nintendo charm going strong.

it's been awesome. wii and wii u had games that had the Nintendo "it" factor, but the consoles themselves did not.

this does. it's awesome.

a lot of people have been whining about weapon durability but I honestly love the system

every weapon is valuable. swing it till it breaks, throw it at an enemy, then pick up whatever is lying around.

or use bombs, arrows, runes, environment, etc.

even "trash" weapons serve a purpose, such as clearing trash mobs. Then save your super rare weapons for Moderate and Major Test of Strength, or Lynels etc.

the fact that you can carry over 100 arrows without any kind of quiver upgrade is a bit odd. arrows are so strong and they are everywhere .

weapon durability quickly doesn't even become a concern once your off the plateau

I just hope they release a dock with dGPU. Idc about 3rd party as much. What I do want is quality looking titles which perform great.

The Chaas Qeta Shrine is frustrating! It's the only thing I've really struggled with so far... Weapons breaking errewhere. I just took like 30 minutes nearly bombing the guardian to death and slipped up during his laser phase... One-shot.

Best thing to do is walk away. Get out do a side quest in the area and come back. I've done it several times in shrines only to comeback and figure the puzzle/defeat enemy with ease.

speaking of which, the game definitely performs better undocked, but I think way too much was made about the frame rate issues when docked. it certainly looks and performs better undocked

should I adjust the screen resolution for docked mode? would that do anything?

Idk but I'm also a performance retard. Really sensitive to dropped frames and we have a lot of them in BotW. It happens too often for me to forgive.

I agree with Dock vs Undocked. 900 vs 720 is really kicking that little 224CUDA cores arse.

The lack of any anti-aliasing might be my biggest issues. When textures are that low res and you have low resolution, shtt just look bad. Example, climbing up a high ladder. Omg

Not hating on the game. It is a great title. Love it. Just want to see Zelda in the best possible version.

That's what I'm going to do, but my personality makes that difficult... Especially after being SO CLOSE.

oh I know.

for me, I take it out of the dock and see it and i'm playing Zelda on the go and it is a major wow feeling

after a while I dock it and remember this is a console not a handheld, I get the same wow feeling

I fricking love this thing.

Is that the Major test of Strength?

I struggled with the Moderate test, got him down to 100 hp and died. So i left moderate and flew down to the next shrine.. walk in and see "major test..". Oh great. Instantly left.

Took me fricking forever to get to those two

I need to upgrade my bombs asap
