Alright I just got spoiled by some random a-hole and I'm not sure what I'm more pissed the dude who spoiled me the second half of the game.
Joel dying was expected, Joel being killed by the surgeon's daughter/son (not sure if she's actually trans) is a crazy twist, but the way he dies and then we have to play as her and hunt Ellie down makes no sense.
Excuse me I don't want to play as the person who killed Joel and hunt down Ellie. This game could actually be far better if we are introduced to Abbie in the beginning and she begins to grow on us and then middle way through it the scene happens and now we're playing as Ellie hunting down Abbie.
Ellie's warpath gets more people close to her killed and eventually gives her quest when she realizes why Abbie killed him
Also Abbie kills him shooting him or betraying him during a supply run instead of that

Yeah now I'm just pissed because TLOU is my favorite game of all time and I've been waiting for this fricker for years. I'm still holding out hope that somehow this game will be good guess that's what Gamefly is for.

The general idea of what Naughty Dog is trying to do seems potentially brilliant to me:
-start a sequel as the two main characters from the first game
-the main guy from the first game gets revenge killed by offspring of a main antagonist from the 1st game
-secondary protagonist from the first game takes control for the remaining first half of the sequel
-2nd half of the sequel is from the point of view of the 1st game's antagonist's kid, seeking revenge
It seems like something Rockstar could handle perfectly. Just stories of revenge from people who don't necessarily have beef with each other. Think about the prologues to RDR and RDR2, fighting amongst people that no longer want to fight. Meanwhile, Naughty Dog has managed to squeeze in 4 lesbians (3 lesbians + 1 tranny?) into the end of the game.
I appreciate the risks that Naughty Dog has taken with this game, but they're Rian Johnson type risks. Purple-haired lesbians kissing Fredo on the mouth and complaining about the patriarchy.

It'd make more sense if you started as Abby and she's looking for someone but the game never tells you who or why. Then the twist is that it's actually Joel and this character you started to like is actually the "bad guy".
But no. First you play as ellie. Then Joel dies. Then you switch to Abby. Then you hunt Ellie. WHAT?

Except It'd be more like if after John Marston died you switched to Edgar Ross and hunted down Jack Marston
