Making female characters as ugly on purpose is a big thing in triple A gaming the past few years. Attractiveness in females is basically a microaggression. We're pretty much in bizzaro opposite world of what people actually want.

Mass Effect Andromeda also did the same thing, they uglied up their female models noticeably. All the male models looks almost exactly like their ultimate avatar but the females all were much more butch/plain looking.
