yeah, you can't change the buttons to that. I tried when I first got this game cause I like the triggers to be on the bottom too, but it's not a big deal and would mess me up now that I am used to it.
I'd look into getting your helicopter and jet controls to how you like them before you try to fly or many LOLZ will come from watching you crash and burn immediately after takeoff.

the only thing I did in BF3 when I first got it was fly so I crashed many times while learning what button layout would work best for me.
but everyone was a noob back then and crashing all over the place. shite was hilarious.
all that crashing paid off so now I can piss people off like Lew and Devious.

I could probably hold my own if nothing were shot at me. As soon as I hear the lock on I go full retard. And if I see a tank, I could manage to swoop in and hit it a few times but after I have to come up I usually hit a building or the ground.

yeah, evasive maneuvers are probably one of the important chopper skills to have. once I get disabled by a stinger or something, I just bug out real quick and get behind cover to land and repair. as for tanks, you just gotta make sure to swoop in making a run and never get too low. you gotta pull up pretty quickly so you stay out of the tank's turret range.

I smoked a chopper the other day on Alborz Mountain. I know brab got a good look from his 4 wheeler. It was legit.

It was a lot easier to learn how to fly earlier in the game. Having double flares with the apache was helpful, but now you are totally screwed. I still prefer the little bird, I work people with the minigun.

yeah, choppers used to be beastmode when you had two people working together. almost impossible to shoot down.

not really, it just takes more skill. I can still dominate in a chopper and I find it a lot easier to take other choppers down when the pilot sucks.
I like the little bird too, but it sucks how they changed it to where you need someone in there to designate for you.

I dunno man, whenever I get in the apache now there are too many people hell bent on shooting me down. Maps with the attach helicopters usually don't have a lot of obstacles for me to duck around like I do with the little bird.

yeah, you definitely need a good gunner to take all of the stinger users out.
I've almost completely given up on flying with randoms because of all the times they would just sit there and not shoot at ANYTHING. it would make me rage hard.
sometimes I would just nosedive and jump out to teamkill the guy in my chopper.

As long as the button and stick layout is the same I can get in the air for a few minutes (then the LOLZ occur) from playing it on Xbox. I think I used Lefty Southpaw or something. I flew with the control sticks...not the triggers. I still suck at flying and would rather gun or repair
