1) Do the first security mission ASAP to get a passive upgrade boost all XP gains by 10% Also get the Counseling upgrade in the Medical wing, which Increases credit gains by 10%
2) You can slide down ladders by holding sprint
3) Break down worthless items for materials instead of selling them crafting materials can be combined at a ratio of 5 to 1 in the Base of Operations
4) Press up on the d-pad to mark enemies. Hold up to do a 5 second countdown
5) Be sure to run into any nearby unvisited safe houses. This will permanently unlock them as fast travel points and Inside EVERY safehouse, talk to the JTF officer and examine the board to mark sidequests on your map
6) Throw turret, Hold RB to destroy it and reset cooldown clock
7) Switch which shoulder you're aiming over by pressing the left stick in while aiming
8) And aim through an equipped scope by pressing the right stick in while aiming
9) Hold start to go straight to your inventory
10) Give supplies to civilians in need for cosmetic items
11) USE YOUR ammo and damage buffs frequently! You will find LOTS of them running around Manhattan, and I am always filled up
12) There's an exclamation point when falling from high enough to take damage
13) Matchmaking is fricking hard to see
14) Shoot cleaners in their tanks to make them explode!
15) Burst fire your weapons, the recoil is very high in The Division, except for LMGs, the longer your fire the more accurate they become!
16) Strip all the mods on a weapon quickly by pressing right stick on the weapon mod screen
17) You can also shoot the backpack on enemies that have a grenade backpack (much like the cleaners) to make their backpack explode.

When you open up the map you will see that the map is separated into different areas based off of a level difficulty. There are safe houses, or a base of operations, in every zone. When you talk to the JTF he will unlock your side missions. Then if you go over to the board you can unlock encounters on the map.
From there you can complete all of the missions, side missions, and encounters in the zone. Once you have completed all the side missions you will have one final mission where you return to the JTF officer and he will send you to the next safe house.

If you're getting low on space and you don't want to break anything down you can put mods inside guns and it will count as less space taken. For example if you have a assualt rifle, a mag mod, a silencer and a scope put the mods into the gun and now instead of using 4 spots in your pack you're only using one.
Also another tip for getting around a little easier. Just hold circle(ps4)(the button that you use to get over objects) while running instead of tapping it.
quote:
if you mount a ladder while sprinting, you can continue to hold forward (even if you're going down), and you'll ascend/descend full speed andcontinue sprinting once you're off.
quote:
1) kill the short-range/melee enemies first. Your whole squad could be in trouble if they penetrate your position.
2) As the enemy pushes forward, fall back. As the enemy falls back, push forward. Map control is the fifth soldier in your squad.

I agree with the breaking down of weapons the most. This early on in the game crafting is huge.
Also there is an infinite crafting bug ign highlights.

Does it still take a ton of bullets to kill people like in the beta or is it better now with full release?

Seriously, did any of this come up when Borderlands came out? SAME DAMN THING!!!

Been having fun but it is starting to feel repetitive already and that scares me.
Not enough variety in mission structures and enemy types.
The dark zone feels a little gimmicky to me as well. Too bullet spongy for fun competitive play, so people take to pushing around loners with roving bands of 4 man rogues. Seems like that will get old fast.
I hope I'm wrong, but those are my concerns from this early vantage point.
CornDogCologne concerns from the other thread

I think Borderlands' art style affords suspension of disbelief. Even with Destiny, shooting an alien 47 times in the face is at least somewhat believable due to a armor and energy shields.
With this, random street thugs will take multiple head shots and grenades to the face. It's a pill that's a bit harder to swallow.

I would think the red health bar that floats above their head would blow away that fog of "reality" that's making this an issue.

Should it not be doing this?

Apparently challenge mode is really rewarding
quote:
I have been max level since yesterday and done all three of the challenge mode dungeons now. And the difficulty is brutal, but its so rewarding and so much fun. All I want to say, in a few weeks when people hit max level you guys at Massive WILL get bombarded by people telling you to nerf everything about challenge mode. Please dont, this is the only game in years I find challenging and fun. Just please, dont listen to them!
