Man, somehow I got screwed. I talked Preston Parker into staying but he isn't on my roster. My offense is going to be horrible. My best reciever is something like an 83. Thank god I have two 99's on D.

It's my fault. I went out of town for the night and should have asked to not advance because I knew that they would screw me. It sucks because there are seniors who are 2nd 3rd or 4th on the depth chart who are a notch better than freshmen but the computer will cut the freshmen.I had some 4* recruits cut

If it makes you feel any better I had to cut a bunch of 4*'s b/c bitches couldn't hang. Didn't have room for them on the roster with the massive improvement a bunch of my FR, SO, and JR's had. Literally the biggest overall jumps in improvement on a per player average I have seen to date. What a team I have.

I need a FB bad though, and had to settle for a walk on. My SR, Havili, is great, an 87 I believe, but the suck arse walk on is a 52...need to hit FB hard this year.

Also, have you noticed an increased trend of 3* being higher rated than 4*'s? I swear that I have 4 3* recruits that are better than several 4*'s I recruited.

Anyone have a status update on how many people have finished preseason recruiting as of late? I'm still at work.

I had a 4 star corner come in better than my 5 star.
.
I made the dynasty available offline and played a game. The settings seem pretty good. I think the computers break block needs to go down a bunch. Maybe bump user running back up or run block.

Yea, same here. I started a user offline dynasty with LSU and am playing through their schedule. So far I just offed Appy State 112-7 , but that says nothing...FCS teams are like playing against air, even on Heisman. The only thing that strikes me as a bit high are six minute quarters, but perhaps playing against a real team makes the game shorter. I like to keep games at about an hour a pop in length. Scoring 16 touchdowns on Appy didn't help the clock run down at all .

Art, you play some more and I'll play some more with these settings and hopefully while we wait for the preseason process to scoot along we can come to a consensus on the perfect settings. All and all though, I think these are a great start. I only had 2 or 3 picks instead of the 9-10 that I usually have against an opponent of this caliber. Also I usually put up about 21 TD's for approx. 160 or so points, so there is a step up. Appy had 323 total yards on me which normally is about -10.

Also, when I get home from the game tomorrow evening I'm advancing. People have had ample enough time to do their preseason recruiting. They can always restock their board manually after the preseason is over but before week 1 has completed. I'll allow everyone about 24 hours to do their redshirting after I advance tomorrow night, and then I'm going to pop through to the custom scheds (which is all me) and then to a new season. Depth charts can be done in season, so we dont need to wait on that for a day while everyone does it in the offseason.

For now they're exactly what we're using, so feel free to put them into your game and practice with them a bit. Let us know how you feel about them. If we find that some need tweaking, then we will adjust accordingly.

I still think computer break block needs to be cut in half. I have tight ends that are blocking a DB and they just shed them off with no problem. I will play a few more game again Sunday.

OK, so I don't exactly know what happened. I went to advance the week from Preseason Recruiting to Redshirting and voila, it was the beginning of the season. No redshirts. No depth charts (although this is not a big deal, as it can be done at anytime). No custom schedules.

The redshirts hurt. It really sucks. The only thing I can say here is that we can probably still redshirt about 75% of the guys we would have this year next season when they are sophomores.

The custom schedule thing sucks too, as I did not have the opportunity to give everyone FBS first games or to do the user v. user matchups. Most people, with the exception of one or two people, play easy chumps early on in the first week or two. The one or two that are excepted play #22 or worse ranked teams. This probably won't make for a big deal.

As for user v. user matchups, things might work out. Upon looking at the schedules, these are the matchups:

FSU (1) v Miami
LSU (0)
Miami (2) v OU and FSU
Mizzou (1) v OU
ND (1) v USC
tOSU (1) v PSU
OU (2) v Miami and Mizzou
Oregon (1) v. USC
PSU (1) v. tOSU
USC (2) v. Oregon and ND
Vandy (0)

So while we didn't get 2 user matchups per person, like we would have liked, at least we will get to settle it all on the field this year. While LSU and Vandy don't have any matchups right now, if they each run the course, they have the SECCG to play out.

I'm really sorry that this happened. It really pisses me off that it just jumped ahead like that. Maybe I pressed something wrong, I dunno. Anyway, I hope no one is too upset, and everyone is still pumped and ready for year 2.

Now that all of that has been said, Year 2 is primed and ready to begin, so play week one games and hit up recruits. Good luck.

off season advances one week to the next, pre season advances as a whole. EA needs to look into improving this process next year.

No worries though, still excited for year 2

Oh. Dammit. Oh well, I guess then at least everybody got to redshirt their players and set their depth charts except me, but I'm ok with that. Like I said, I have a relatively young team, so I can just redshirt all those guys as sophomores. The main loss was being able to set user matchups I guess then. But, like I mentioned previously, we should be fine.

Just played my first game. USC v Idaho. Final score 70-35.

I couldn't stop the passing game worth shite. They had over 400 yards passing and 126 yards rushing on me, but I still that arse. Guess it's going to take a little adjusting to Heisman.

Art, I haven't noticed the problem with the CPU breaking off of blocks yet, and also I ran the ball pretty effectively against the Vandals. I'm still checking it out though, and I suspect that if changes are warranted, then I can make them between week 1 and week 2 games. Give me specific slider setting numbers though, as you're probably much more familiar with the discreet effects of the sliders than I am, and I'll work the changes in.

Yea, I found that out. You know, I didn't even try to click on and do those things b/c I just assumed it was a week by week process just like the offseason. Oh well, now I know, and no real hard done.

These heisman settings suck. They had LB's getting picks all game, their running backs/QB broke nearly every tackle and their guys outran every player I had.

I also got shafted on the recruiting I think because I didn't even have a full roster when I checked to red shirt. This season is not off to a good start, lol.

Did you win? If I get a lot of negative feedback on the settings after two games, then I'll change the settings. I wasn't thrilled Idaho put up 35 on my D, but I still hung 70 on 'em with Sanchez passing for 280 yds. 3 TDs and 0 INTs and McKnight rushing for 244 yds. and 6 TD's. I guess we'll see how this works. If it doesn't I just assume go back to what we were using last season. All American on normal sliders.
