Is this hardware gonna be as difficult to find as the PS5?

Want to see FF7 remake part 2 trailer but I doubt we get that and get FF 16 new trailer and release date. Resident Evil 4 remake would be cool to see too.

My first RE game. I'm excited

The game looks absolutely badass and will probably be the first must buy for ps5. It doesn’t look like a final fantasy game at all though.
Also judging from the Eikons shown in the trailer and the green health bars at the top indicating the players health it seems the 4 that are on your side are Shiva Ramuh Odin and Phoenix. Interesting.

I’m going to have it Pre-ordered because I’m a final fantasy fan boy but that trailer honestly didn’t do much for me. Looks to similar to XV. I really want them to get back to a high fantasy setting like FF IX

This game appears to have a high fantasy setting. I was speaking more about the combat, it looks more like Devil May Cry than anything FF has ever produced. I very very much enjoyed how FF7 remake married the two and imagined that would be the standard going forward with minor innovations here and there for the time. I see a lot of people complaining about no party members, not that that’s even confirmed, but I wouldn’t have an issue with one protagonist. As long as that story is air tight and everything is balanced perfectly around it. The boss fights appear to be a mix of Eikon vs Eikon and 1v1 duels which I can get behind. It also does look like it has some form of ATB at the top in yellow and maybe the small amount of gameplay was executing quick commands or something.

I will almost certainly buy this when it comes out but I really want them to make another actual turn based FF game. I know I'm in the minority on that though.

Strictly turn based in the mold of FF10 is likely never returning to the mainline FF series even though ironically FF10 and 10-2 are two of the best combat systems they’ve ever produced. I’ve pretty much liked then all outside of 15 which is meh, and as I said I think remake really nailed a very fine blend of the two. Persona is able to get away with it because as popular as P5 got it is still a relatively niche audience compared to what FF draws which over time has mainstreamed the combat.

Apparently the game is expecting an M rating. Which I for one am very pleased about. The game is also apparently already in a completely playable state for start to finish. With a year still to release date should mean a bunch of time polishing up that suspect UI.

FFXVI looks epic. Gives me FFIV vibes.

I expect it to be a pretty jarring departure from what people see as the current FF formula while also acting as a send off for all that came before it. It will definitely alienate some long time fans mostly the dinguses who still refuse to play FF7 remake to this day but it will bring in more new fans than FF15 ever dreamed of.
Some interesting questions and observations I have:
- Is Clive somehow the dominant of Ifrit? He is the first son of the Archduke but the Phoenix dominant passed on him and went to his little brother Joshua who he acts as a shield for. There’s obviously some tragedy involving Joshua and an inside job that sets Clive on his revenge quest. But revenge on who? His wiki states that Clive is definitely Ifrits dominant but that appears to be based on the end of the Dominance trailer where someone calls him child of fate and Ifrit but I don’t think that is a case of confirmation and could definitely be a slight of hand fake out.
- I think it’s clear Jill is the dominant of Shiva and somewhat clear wether the dominants summon the eikons in a traditional sense or actually become them they take on a look similar to their dominant. This would place the big Shiva and Titan battle shown in both trailers in the adult Clive timeline
- Does anyone else agree the theme of this game will be rebirth cycles and a message similar to The Last of Us 2 but in a game that’s actually good? Both trailers show the Phoenix and Ifrit fight and they’re the logo. Wouldnt be shocked if all elements have two eikons but focusing on the fire element on the logo it seems to set forth a message that fire begets fire, revenge is bad etc.
- In terms of a party and allied characters it would seem from both trailers based on their eikons Joshua will act as white mage/time mage/green mage while Jill will act as a Black mage/red mage. We don’t have names for anymore characters yet but have seen dragoon’s so i am fairly confident we will at least have AI allies in combat for some sections. Clive seems to be able to partly harness power from the Eikons whose dominants have shared it will him. Wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the upgrade and skill progression lies in this area fleshing out different builds and move sets while traditional stats just increase with levels. Do not be surprised if we see a return of the gambit system, which I quite enjoyed. There are brief combat shots that have Clive equipped with Phoenix next to his health bar so perhaps something like a spin on FF8 junction system is at play.
Upon checking out the new trailer again frame by frame closer it appears Clive IS actually Ifrit. However, at the very end it shows two Ifrits battling, one with an orange eye that shows up in the Joshua trauma scene and one with a blue eye who we are seen controlling briefly against what appears to be Garuda even though I’m somewhat sure Benedicta or whatever her name is is shown sleeping with someone who appears to be Clive or his father in a dark frame briefly as well and will act as our ally. Could be a turncoat situation. Very interesting stuff and it appears something akin to dark aeons from FF10 will be up to something here. Of course I could be completely wrong about it all

Xll and 7R have…what I think is the middle ground of old and new combat for FF. If they absolutely have to take away turn based then I wish the would use those two games. I actually liked Xlll combat also.
I don’t really know what to think of 16’s trailer. The combat certainly looks different. You can fight primal vs primal and characters turn into those primals.
I get a FF Attack on Titan Feel.
