I checked this last night. make sure you demo all your upgrades and recoup the materials.
Soounds so obvious, damn I feel dumb.
I'm always materials poor.

Yea, I
right after reading that as well. I've lost a survivor that I didn't help on a zed hunt. It is the main reason I do them now. It really isn't it a matter of getting rid of one special since you see them all over the place anyways. The damn infestations I can't see and go clear out are a pain in the arse.

Good to know. Thanks for the help.
This is something I need to think about more and look into, also the fighting specializations. I wouldn't even consider being anywhere near two hordes on foot. If I saw that many I'd be hightailing it to the nearest car, which I hate doing because it feels like cheating.

weapon specializations are the shite. blunt weapon marcus is nearly unstoppable. took out two hordes by himself.

I wish they were more specific about who you might lose if you do or don't do it. If it was certain people I would be there in a heart beat, but if it was other people I would take my chances.

I still hate those big-uns.

Ok, how do I specialize? Holding x didn't do shite
Posted on 6/13/13 at 7:53 am to hg
That's to perform a special move or whatever. If I'm not mistaken, once you level a skill to 7* you can upgrade to a badass special move. I thought you could upgrade wits, cardio, fighting, etc. unless I'm way off base and just misunderstood. I'm trying to turn Marcus in to robocop

Press up on the d-pad. Go to the second page where your persons stats are. You can click A on any stat to read what they can do. For example a player with 7 star shooting it will list the lock on head shots etc.
If you scroll further down on the stat page, past the basic stats, there should be Weapons Speacialization section and a picture of several weapons (blunt, sharp, heavy, and the various gun types). To choose your specialization hover over the weapon and hold X (There are sticky notes that appear on the left that explain this).
Below Weapons Specialization there should a few other options that I can't remember right now. Now, get ready for a much more pleasurable zed fighting experience

i fricking love suplexing a zombie and finishing him off with a head first power bomb into the pavement.
i also love grabbing a zombie and kneeing it's head into obliteration.
lol. then when Marcus has the baseball bat, golf club, or axe he gets them pinned on the ground and Happy Gilmore's their head into a million pieces.
these special moves make me smile on the inside every single time.

I thought I scrolled all the way down. I highlighted the stars and it didn't let me do anything. Guess that's just where it displays the option you've chosen
I'm about to have an army of badasses by the weekend. Marcus is maxed and a few others are getting close. Zeds don't wanna mess with 5-6 Terminators.
Also moved in to the truck stop this morning. Had to build and get materials to build more. I was late to work b/c I lost track of time makign sure I had a watchtower, shop, medical area, sleeping quarters, etc

i know what you mean. this game has ruined my social life lately.
I was describing to the wife the perfect outpost setup in marshall with proper sniper tower locations.
she gave me a very judgemental look and went downstairs to watch tv.

Good list of satisfying finishing moves. I would add the LB+Y (I think) when you're behind a zed that is bent over. You jump off their back, knocking them to the ground, and land on their head. I freaked out the first time I did that one.

I still enjoy the old, simple face smash into the pavement

what about throat smash when staggered on a wall.
favorite is still drop kick instakill.

Progress on the first title update! It is in the certification process. May know something for sure tomorrow. Notes: LINK

But since we're done with the first one, we've started working on the second title update. Because that is how this train rolls.
Here are the fixes:
NEW: Playable characters can no longer be killed by the simulation
Workshop now repairs weapons and vehicles at game dawn rather than the next real-world day.
Reduced cooldown times of commands in the Radio Menu, notably Words of Encouragement, Words of Inspiration, and Medical Advice.
NPCs no longer get stuck behind the counter or on the stairs at the gun shop in Spencer's Mill.
The "Too many infestations!" event will now only occur when there are too many infestations within 500m of your Home, rather than anywhere in the world.
UPDATED: The "Too many infestations" to-do item is now cleared when there is only one remaining infestation within 500m of your Home, rather than anywhere in the world.
You must now be close to the ranger station for the Memento mission scene to play. Previously you would be teleported to the station if you left before the end of the mission.
Community members will properly interact with Facilities in your home. Previously they would stop after a period of time.
Feral zombie now properly dodges vehicles approaching at an angle.
NPCs will now reliably reach warehouse between Mt. Tanner and Spencer's Mill when called to gather supplies.
You can now punch out through the windshield of a vehicle if both doors are blocked.
Zombies and NPCs no longer get stuck behind the grocery store in Marshall.
NPCs now properly move to the proper location during cinematic scenes.
Zombies no longer fall through floor in the Marshall courthouse.
Zombies can no longer get under porch or floor at the Wilkerson's farmhouse.
Fixed a few rare crash bugs.
Fixed various translations bugs.

any word on what the second update addresses
Posted on 6/13/13 at 6:48 pm to WestlakeTiger
I think they should add the option to grab a friend on a mission using your influence. There needs to be a limit though. I just went through the infested warehouse with 3 army guys and wrecked shop. The game would be too easy if you could just do it all the time.

Yeah the "call for backup" option was awesome for clearing out infestations.

There is a call for back up option? I honestly never saw it

Down on the d-pad after you go to the courthouse in Marshall.
I think you can use it twice every 24 hours.
