The game has come to a grinding halt.
Lots of players have quit, overall feeling on the game sucks.
Blizzard keeps fricking things up

Coming from a WoW "lifer," I have no real desire to log in and play in this expansion anymore.
I've slowly started quitting expansions earlier and earlier, but I expected to play this one longer. Loved the leveling experience, but after that it was pretty tedious.
Azerite armor and finding the right traits felt like a chore. I hated grinding AP. The raid was OK, but wasn't anything mind blowing.. a couple good fights and that's about it. I didn't find Island expeditions fun. The warfronts were decent but they took so long to come back around it seemed like.
I always have a main character that I play 75% on, but I have recently liked leveling and gearing alts, and that was a huge chore. Once you got to 120, it took way too much effort to get to a decent ilvl to get invited to things.
Getting M+ groups was annoying, party leaders always setting stupid high requirements. Parsing in the 90-95% in raids in WCL, and not getting invites to M+ groups was just something I didn't want to fight outside of our scheduled raid nights.
I logged in for the first time last week in probably 2-3 months just to test out the performance enhancements they've done to multithreading to increase FPS. That was a nice change. I got 15-20 more frames in Boralus. Then promptly logged off.

quote:For this I just bought purples from the AH. Stupid cheap for what they give you immediate access to. Once you hit 120 you can immediately deck yourself out in a couple 355 trinks and a few 340 armor slots to get yourself access to warfronts and LFR.

quote:This is one of the worst problems and I think the playerbase overall is a bigger issue than people want to admit because everyone is circlejerking on Blizzard. Half the time the party leaders don't even meet their own stupid requirements.

Another issue with the players I have is the attitude most people seem to have with warmode. It really feels like 95% of the players just use it for the exp/rep boost and immediately start bitching and turn warmode off as soon as they actually have to engage in the mode they opted into. I tried to get some Horde together in region chat to run off a caravan of about 10 Alliance players that had just been roaming around Vol'dun and killed people questing for hours and the response I got was to just turn warmode off and quit bitching about getting ganked. The funny thing was I wasn't the one getting ganked, I just wanted to actually engage in warmode and use the mode for what it was for. Apparently no one else does. For 3 hours I couldn't even get a group of 10 together to PvP in the open world in the faction that's supposed to be dominating warmode. Blizzard isn't the only thing wrong with this game. There are a lot of lazy, entitled players in this game now that won't engage in ANYTHING if there isn't some kind of reward at the end. The scary thing is that it feels like this is the demographic that Blizz is catering to.

Haha I feel you're being generous here, they are god awful.
I'm just waiting patiently until classic comes out so I can relive the glory days.

I told myself when Classic was announced that I wouldn't touch it, because I wanted to let the "glory days" be just that, and just remember the memories from the good ole days, because I thought it could never really truly be the "same"...
but after BFA, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm ready for that grind and everything that comes with it.
With WoW: Classic and Warcraft: Reforged coming out in 2019... I really couldn't care less about BFA at this point.

Yah I've done a couple different private servers over the years and after a few months have always felt like "this isn't real wow" since it wasn't an official blizzard game.
The servers were always alot of fun I just wanted it to be official.
Now that we're getting that, if it's true to vanilla like they are saying it will be (still need some work from the demo they released), it's going to re-invigorate the player base and be amazing.
I really hope they don't frick it up.
