Bloober Team; not interested

Hopefully a remake to revive the series also means a new game before long.
I'll grab this though, simply cannot.

Looks great but why aren't the remaking SH1 first?

No idea, I liked 1 a lot tbh. Also seems to be a ps5 exclusive

Negative, on PC same day as PS5. Xbox has to wait a year.

I would not say I'm not interested but that developer consistently under performs imo. I dont hate their games but when I play them I always feel like they were on the cusp of making a great game but they just cant seem to tie it all together. There is always something lacking in the gameplay dept.
Besides the dream of getting Team Silent back together who else would you want to see develop a Silent Hill game? Maybe Frictional?

They announced a couple new games: Silent Hill f and Silent Hill Townfall
Also a new movie: Movie Teaser
They also announced something called Silent Hill: Ascension, which was described by IGN as a "Let’s Play Pokemon version of a new Silent Hill story that will be live on multiple platforms." Trailer

yeah, their stuff is completely soulless in most departments, especially their writing and gameplay. so predictable. they aren't good at any kind of tension building or atmosphere

this is a good question and I honestly have no idea. Frictional seems like the easy choice, but their writing in the latest took a significant hit with the departure of Mikael Hedberg. They are still the best at crafting tense, atmospheric horror though and their gameplay sections (despite not having combat) are usually really well done.
Even then, I think SH has a distinctly japanese touch and wish that ANY of the old powerhouse jap horror devs were still operating
Most of the best horror games I've played over the last few years have been indie titles from really small teams tbh

You didn't enjoy Layers of Fear 1/2 or The Medium?

I only played the first one and it was terrible. haunted house simulator with weak environments, cheap jump scares, recycled animations from other games (one of the death scenes is literally an exact death animation from PT), and no substance

didn't play it. watched several videos and reviews and it was exactly what I thought it would be
Observer is probably their best work from an art design and environmental standpoint, but the writing was very weak and the gameplay was god awful

I think they made some mistakes with The Medium (e.g. the stealth/chase sequences were dumb, they didn't really use the spirit world vs real world mechanic that well, etc.), but I thought they did a pretty good job with creating an interesting atmosphere, and a somewhat interesting story. I think the tv show they're developing has the potential to be pretty good.

I'm honestly way more excited for SH Townfall since No Code is developing it. Observation and Stories Untold were both awesome, smaller scale productions

Yea I agree and of the 3 SH games announced Silent Hill Towerfall by No Code Studios piqued my interest the most. Observation was a interesting/good(check it out if you have not) game and I'd like to see what they can bring to Silent Hill table.

Cool, not much to go on with those teasers but surely one will be decent.

So yes, timed PS5 exclusive.
Sony just keeps destroying its own narrative related to the Microsoft Activision deal.

Distinction without a difference.
Sony is well aware that Microsoft makes all first party Game Pass games available on both PC and XBox, so your own argument here completely destroys Sony's exclusivity claims about Call of Duty.
