Majora's Mask sucks. Windwaker was good but not nearly as good as the earlier games. I want to play twilight princess again without motion controls to see how it is.

Except the Wii U will have less than a 5 year life cycle when the Switch launches, so you're pretty much saying "frick you, buy our new shite" to all the unfortunate people who bought into your previous garbage system.

I can see merit in devoting resources to the new platform, but you can't blame Wii U owners for being less than happy about the news.

I also don't think this rumor is true, but I own a WiiU and have gotten my money's worth out of it with Twilight Princess HD, Mario Maker, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Wonderfull 101 - yeah, it's hasn't been the "best" Nintendo console to date, but it hasn't been horrible either.

P.S: I will not be buying Breath of the Wild on WiiU either - frick that, I want to play Breath of the Wild on the Switch, but the WiiU owners will have their game on WiiU

P.S.S: Don't buy a fricking gaming system for one game

Makes perfect sense. BotW is potentially canceled and he's saying he won't get to play it followed up by "oh well, they aren't that good since OoT anyway."

How is that not sour grapes?

Good. They need to focus all of their time and energy on making it the best game they can for the newer more powerful system.

Blah, that nVidia Shield Tablet?

This idea would have worked for me if the dock housed a dGPU. Allowing the tablet in dock mode to render games at higher resolutions/fidelity and handheld mode just using the SoC for renders at lower resolution/fidelity.

Going that route would allow Nintendo to still do their weird shtt without pushing away 3rd party developers for the 4th straight generation. But this would also require Nintendo to ignore their original goal for this to be a completely mobile console. Devs could develop the games for just the dGPU alone and have the hand held mode feature unavailable. When developing for systems with dedicated power and active cooling, power consumption and thermals are not high priority, given you are within the hardware's envelope. Now you are asking Devs to consider these things. Then to put a cherry on top, Tegra SoC do not use x86 instruction sets like those other two popular consoles. They rather emulate the instruction thus given lower performance but 1 plus on power consumption.

Nintendo speaks about how they are strengthening the partnership with third party devs. That is cute, but they need to make a box with hardware that attracts the big studios to your platform. Its obvious that this is just an Nintendo box for Nintendo games once again. I'm fine with that, just don't give me all this third party BS spill.

I don't doubt that, but you do realize, if this rumor is true the Wii U will go down with no new Zelda or Metroid game? Those are Nintendo staples for me.

They're giving up on it.

It is pretty telling how shite the console is. It would definitely burn some fans if they did it, but I really think focusing on the Switch is the best thing for them. The WiiU has been fighting a losing battle since before it was released and the Switch has a lot of steam behind it already.

Nintendo sees the failure of the WiiU and is ready to put it behind them. I think it is impressive that they didn't give up on it sooner.

I'd argue that Windwaker was one of the best in the series until it totally went off the rails at the end with the sailing around for triforce pieces nonsense.

I haven't. I know some have but I quickly discovered how over I was many of their franchises.

Because I've been pretty consistent here about my opinions of Zelda games. This isn't a new thing. I like Zelda and I want to play it but I'm not buying a Switch to play 1 game in a series that I think peaked a long time ago.

It did some awesome things but that triforce quest was dumb as hell. It also didn't have many dungeons and to me dungeons are the heart of Zelda games.

Doesn't really change the fact that this

We'll see how it turns out but I already got a wii u for it that they promised. If they can't deliver it then frick them. The series hasn't been the same since ocarina anyway.

is like textbook sour grapes.

I got a WiiU for Zelda, but I might not be getting it. frick it. Zelda sucks now anyway.

Like literally the very definition of the phrase. If they sucked so bad why did you get a WiiU to play the new one and why are you so upset about the idea it might not happen?

I mean these two statements pretty much say that there's a good chance you won't like BotW. Is there really a need to be angry about it?

Not only that, out of 8 console releases, you seem lukewarm on 3 of them, nearly half. That's a lot of not liking Zelda for a Zelda fan.

It is unfortunate but what do you expect Nintendo to do in this situation? The Wii U, as a money making machine, was a failure. Do they continue to pour money into something that is not selling? That's dumb.

And the system isn't garbage at all, the library is still quite awesome, regardless of the lack of serious 3rd party titles.

As an owner, please move on to the Switch and fix things, fix 3rd party relationships. That's what folks should want.

I think it has peaked as well if I only look at releases so far

I think breath of the wild has GOAT potential which I've never said about a Zelda game. It looks that good, but looks can be deceiving so we'll see

It is by their own hand. Gave me reasons earlier.

Agreed. The damn thing is being discontinued and still has a deeper library than both XBONE/PS4.
