Village of Shadows complete and I've 100%d the game. Great experience. Few things I wish they had handled differently but it was my favorite game so far this year for sure

Do you have a personal ranking of all RE games? Where does 8 rank?

REmake is the definitive #1, and that's with no nostalgia goggles. Before Village, it was the most recent one I had played and I was just blown away. It has aged like fine wine. Perfect blend of atmosphere, level design, and puzzles.
After that, you really have to break it up into classics and modern
Classic 2 and 3 are great, especially 2. 0 and Code Veronica are trash
4 is an all-time classic and one of the most influential action games ever. 5 is even more actiony but still well-done and well-executed. 6 is complete and utter trash, one of the worst games I've ever played
R2make is incredible, arguably the best modern RE game. R3make was a fine game, but a huge missed opportunity due to lots of cuts. Both get knocks from me for the diluted puzzles and some poorly adapted elements from the originals.
I've 100%'d pretty much every game in the series. I'd probably rank them

RE7 (have it above 8 because of the VR experience, still my favorite VR game to date, so mindblowing)

Of the modern games, 8 is easily top 3. Outstanding game with tons of replayability. I'm a sucker for the unlockable shops that they started including. Doing challenges to unlock infinite ammo, concept art, character models, etc.

The Miranda fight had no business taking that many tries. But I didn’t have any heals so that’s probably why.

This is one of the few games I wished I would have started on a harder difficulty. I haven’t played a game like this in awhile so I thought casual would be fine but it’s insultingly easy compared to other modes.

Yeah I’m playing Hardcore right now and it’s still not too hard. If I had known that I could’ve started there.
