I beat his frickin arse
Hoping that the Ch17/18 bosses aren't harder and that I can cake walk through the rest

Good stuff. It’s shocking seeing remakes combat now. It was really good but it cannot be overstated how much rebirth makes combat one of the best systems in game history. It’s hard to explain how it used the same base system but is so much better you’ll just have to experience it. There are expansions like synergy attacks, more abilities while some you keep (like triple slash for cloud, everyone’s move to pump the pressure bar etc) while it adds probably 4-5 new ones.
What makes me say this is seeing you use Aerith in that fight. You’d be a lot better off using Barret in remake for that as a tank healer since she’s so slow and can’t move.
In rebirth first off every character can perfect block negating all damage but aeriths triangle attack in remake is built into her base kit and her new triangle lets her teleport between wards making her way more viable
As far as last chapter bosses Rufus will likely be the worst for you. Many find him very hard and he has another one on one in rebirth that’s MUCH more difficult on hard

I didn't heal a single time throughout the whole gauntlet

You're not the first person to saw what a colossal improvement the combat is in Rebirth. Anxious to see

Yeah it was a way of doing it I would’ve never even considered, it’s what makes it interesting seeing how people find different ways for the hardest challenges.
As I said in my edit above Rufus is likely your biggest hurdle left but if you know what to use to instant stagger him for his info you get from scanning he’s not bad

Also more or less anyone (save tifa a bit) is air combat viable in rebirth
Watch how this chapter four boss the last like 35% of his health I am mostly fully airborne with cloud

It's not all my idea, I saw a guy on youtube explaining how aga spells will interrupt Bahamut's attacks and that that he used aerith as a constant interruptor.
I was just like "ok what if I turn my entire party into glass cannon mages"

Finished. Man I forgot how much I hated 17 and 18. So needlessly padded

Hojos lab is boring as frick any time other than the first. And its barely tolerable then.
Rebirth being an extremely massive and one of the best open worlds ever imo will be a blessing and curse to you imo like it was to me. Theres almost no level design anywhere close to as bad as that in the scripted sequences but the open world is ubisofted, even if its done as well as it can be done

It's like they went out of their way to make Remake the least replayable game ever
Long tedious chapters that are all twice as long as they need to be
Tons of forced walking segments
Tons of backtracking
Contextual traversal (god kill me if I ever have to do another monkey bar segment)
Unskippable cutscenes during boss fights

Dont forget dog shite side quest every single one. Rebirth seriously nails them though. Theres a few stinkers that stick out but theyre near withcer 3 tier
Like even the most annoying one in the game that has you rangle 3 chickens with a bucket is way better than just finding three cats because each rebirth side quest 99% of the time will bring in one party member as like parrt of it and red 13 is comedy relief for this one

Can't wait to see a fully powered PS5 Pro experience. I'm playing Intermission right now and holy shite Yuffie is fun to play. I may take a break before Rebirth though, I'm pretty FF'd out

Yuffie is fricking broken. Shes even extremely more OP in rebirth beyond doubt. Shes by far the best party member and can solo most shite. Her new moves they give her combined with some returning from the dlc break her completely.
Her ability to use her ninja star to play at distance, up close, in the air all anytime she wants very quickly alone without any abilities and the fact everyone starts the game with perfect block in rebirth breaks her.
AS far as your break, just consider rebirth is a legit not even kidding irl commitment. If you plan to 100% it my first run was 175 hours. Something i appreciate about it though is on hard or any ng plus all the ubisoft open world stuff you did the first time just stays done

Anyone play Hogwarts on the Pro yet? If so, which settings did you use?
Deluxe Edition is only $19.99 on the PS Store.
