How bad is it for the rest of you?

My kid has a 5 month old controller already drifting. I have an older one drifting on my PS5 and the one I bought for playing on my PC that is about 2 years old just started drifting.

This is annoying. I bought the dualsense edge with replaceable sticks for the PS5 a couple of months ago and just replaced my PC one with a Xbox Elite 2.

Is sony doing anything about this? Is there a fix you know works? The internet is full of "fixes" that don't work.

Rant over.

3 Dualsenses and an Edge, never had drift

idk if kids use analog sticks differently, but it seems like every person I've seen talk about stick drift has had it on their kids controllers. purely anecdotal of course

Xbox Elite 2.

get ready to go crazy over the A button and bumper issues. One of the worst controllers ever made from a design and QC standpoint. I have a friend that has never had issues with his, but that is not the norm. Internet is replete with thousand-comment threads of people bitching. I had a Series 1 that I replaced 3 times, and the Series 2 is even worse

The new plain Series X controllers are the nicest ones that MS has put out. 0 issues.

I had two for myself develop this issue.

I guess I'll get one of these when the Elite starts doing this.

Seems like controllers are sunk cost in gaming and we just have to eat what they feed us.

About the same for me. The og white controller ran for 2 yrs. Bought a purple one from Best Buy that started drifting 3 days after purchase. And now the pink one I had to get to replace the defective purple controller is drifting.

The funny thing is I gave the OG white controller another chance and the drift is gone. Been using it for a month now.

Glad someone else said it. I’m fed up with PS5 controllers. They are complete shite.

I’ve had 3 get drift and my final one is starting to stick really bad.

I just got the elite series 2 Xbox. 90% of bad reviews are from 2+ years ago with the Xbox elite series 2. They have since put out a newer version of the series 2 which is labeled with a yellow line on the front of the box.

Supposedly these aren’t facing the same issues as the older series 2.

However, I think controllers are just generally shite these days. Gaming has become an addiction for most and they know you’ll buy a controller to feed it.

It's just new packaging. They updated it to include "Series X/S" on the compatible section. Same issues still arise

Just got mine back from PlayStation for same issues. Playing Elden Ring with a left controller drift really, really, sucks.. If you have had it less than a year they will repair / replace. I had to send it to them in Tx on my dime, but they repaired/replaced. So far so good..

I'm going to regret this but I have only had to buy 2 replacement controllers in my life. An NES one many many years ago and an N64 controller.

Is it normal to always have to replace your controllers? I always read about this but have been lucky enough to have avoided it.

Mine has some very slight drift in BFV but I have dead zones set to almost zero, and it only seems to happen if I move it in a certain way.

Still on my launch day controller, it has thousands of hours of usage.

Funny thing is my launch day controller is still going strong without drift as well. Except the left d-pad button doesn't always work. My kid has that one now to replace the 4 month old one that is drifting.

That does not sound promising.

He said it hasn't been an issue for him. He's just glad its not drifting. I may get him an Edge for Christmas. At least the sticks can be replaced.

Two Dualsenses for about a year now, primarily using just one and have not experienced any drift yet.

My Switch paddles, on the other hand, I've had to replace 3× in just two years.

Just threw one in the trash that came with the console about two years ago. It was drifting bad. I tried several "fixes" I found on the internet. Nothing worked.

It's ridiculous to have to buy another $60 controller. Sony should be replacing these.

I guess I've been lucky. I have two DualSense controllers and both haven't had any issues yet.
