Holding back stock is a very common practice. I remember holding back stock for after black friday (so you could sell out on low priced items and not lose as much) and holding back stock for cetain sales or times. It stinks, but it is what it is.
If someone finds out, you just say "I'm sorry, but our policy prevents me from selling it until a certain date. You'll be able to purchase it at said date". I was also told to say, "Oh yeah, we're out of stock now, but we'll have some on Monday."

Well I should preface I'm mostly a COD player. Anywho I jumped in to some team deathmatch. Spawned and caps some fools then went behind them in some buildings with some scaffolding (level with the dam that bursts). Then I was just sticking guys from behind and taking their family jewels, er I mean dog tags. I'm usually terrible at BF but I played one life on that map and killed 5-6 peeps in one life so I made a clipped and shared. Great first experience on the PS4. Now if I can just find where the clip is stored on the ps4 to watch it later.

I hate reading this because it makes me want the PS4 bad. I love BF too and haven't played BF4 yet on any console. Damn you Walmart!

Check K-Mart.com, type in your area code. See if they still have some. Our local K-Marts had them stocked til about 1:30pm local time.

ok, but they are going to hold them to sell them for cheaper on black friday when they could sell them full price right now?
the price isnt dropping and if they do any black friday promos, it'll be a VERY limited quantity. it's cash in pocket right now, so i don't understand this.

I'm assuming there won't be a sale on the console, but good deals on all the games/accessories that go with it. If you can get people into your store during a sale, you can lure them into buying more than they may have planned.

I'm not sure why but I find it really annoying that people do that. Maybe I'm not that desperate for money, but I think it's really sad that it denies so many people access to systems.

Not pre-ordering and being impulsive is my fault but I agree. I could see charging a $100 more just to make a quick buck but $600 more is ridiculous.

Consoles won't be discounted. It's the biggest shopping day of the year. They would rather build up as much stock for that day than sell a small amount at a time. You have to understand how much of a PR piece Black Friday is for retail. They want to be able to say we "x millions in the first hour!".
They also want to be able to guarantee a certain number in stock to get people to choose their store over another.

Home office broadcast on Tuesday afternoon told all managers to sell what they had gotten in that it was for the release.
The Black Friday stock would start arriving next week.
